oh my god I had the biggest freak out tonight.was bathing the kids and brooke like usual wouldnt sit down and all of a sudden started doing this shaking wobbling thing that looked like she was having a fit....I grabbed her straight up outta the bath and wrapped her in a towel and she was still doing it.all up for about 1min.It really freaked me out and I really did think she was having a fit...so rang our local hosp and they said I was welcome to come in or if it happend again to ph ambulance.but straight after doing the shaking thing she was completely back to normal and chatting and trying to get into stuff...was really weird...thing is Im wondering if it was just some real yuky taste in her mouth...she had gotten into rods beer earlier on and managed to take couple gulps before I got it of her and had done few little sick burps after that.....anyway an hr after it all happend and I was still feeling sick with worry(she was absolutely full of herself) she did a little burp again and did another little mini wobble shake thing...like she had brought up little bit of sick and tasted yuk.soooooooooooo should I stop stressing?????????I really want to believe that it was just the beer repeating on her or somthing but Im a total stresser.if she does it again tomorrow then Im absolutely getting her checked out.she had no high temp by the way.was 36.5.................please please let me know what you think.I doubt Im guna get much sleep tonight........

If nothing but to give yourself the peace of mind, get her checked out ! I probably would, as it sounds a little bit like petit mal seizures... although it could be the alcohol too. Only one way to find out though - let us know what happens ok?

Hmmm Im not sure about the shaking for a 1 minute but I know Kobe and also another wee girl i look after often do a wee shaky thing that lasts for a few seconds that is a bit like they have had something sour and you know how you shake it off. we call it the wee wee shake cos they also used to do it when they peed and it was all wet etc.... But to be honest if your really worried about it then go to the doctor/after hours. Also when Addison was born she used to shake and I thought it was because she was cold but the nurse said no and that it wasnt normal (this was while we were still in the hospital) but they also said that because she stopped when we picked her up and sort of shook her out of it then it wasnt a fit.

....it was honestly weird..but she was like consious the whole time and eyes never rolled back or anything.....I had the shakes after it all.....and had a big cry....but she was just so normal and full of herself straight away...she in bed now and have kept checking her(watched her fall asleep and then another half hr of sitting watching her after that) so will see how things go tomorrow.hey what are petit mal seizures??????

Ah, sorry, didn't explain myself very well on that one - but probably because I didn't want to cause you any more panic. However, I was referring to one of the two basic types of seizures that people with epilepsy can experience - petit mal and grand mal. Almost literally (from French) "little hurt" and "big hurt" !

I think Im going to try not to panic tooooo much because she has never done this before and she has never drunk beer before.it may be linked.if she does it again Ill really let my panic go into overdrive......my mum inlaw came to drop some nappies off she reckoned brooke was good as gold......

There are also a few different types of epilepsy too (I have Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy) but you needn't start worrying about that unless she shows any other signs. With my seizures, it's not obvious to anyone else that I'm having them, my eyes don't roll back, and I don't fit like you described, and they only last a second or two so there's quite a few different types. If she didn't go as stiff as a board with the shaking, then it's probably likely it wasn't a fit.
A doctor will be able to reassure you of any concerns you may have. Keep an eye on her over night to calm those nerves!

a lot of kids have these strange seizures...i had a client whose child finally had one in front of a medical person after she was thinking she was imagining the seriousness of it all...tests showed nothing and within a few months she was right as rain without any medical intervention and never had another one since...
I hope your little one will be ok...but if she has another one please take her in to be checked out...just in case....

I suspect its the alcohol as well, keep her fluids up today and see if that flushes out her system.
But certainly if there is another, get it checked out if nothing else for peace of mind.

OMG what a way to teach her not to drink tho....good reminder for her for the rest of her life (and 21st?) about the dangers of the demon drink....LOL....
Im glad she is not having them anylonger...could it be that there is an ingredient in there she is allergic to...and i hate to go there...but is she allergic to yeast? I have heard kids with coeliac often have seizures if they have yeast...you can get a test for it too....better safe than sorry?
