Hello there ladies! Great to be able to be in touch with you again, this thread is such a good idea

I will be 22 weeks UTD tomorrow, time is just flying by. We are having another DS, which caught be by surprise as I was sure this one was a DD. DS #1 is super excited to be having a little brother and DH another son, and I quickly got used to the idea of another boy too, just feeling so blessed to finally be be UTD after a quite a while TTC. Have started shopping up a storm for baby gear (I highly recommend overseas websites for baby clothes, work out cheaper and better quality I think).

I have been stalking the TWW and TTC threads as there's always so much going on there, so glad to have another place to keep in touch with everyone TTC in 2013!

Nice to see you girls in here! Baby V, glad things are going well.

I am 11 weeks and trucking along nicely to 12 weeks. I have a scan booked for Monday 11 Nov. I would dearly love to see a little squirmy bubba in there! If that all goes well, we will have an anatomy scan on 23 Dec, before we take off on holiday. I'm going to get the sonographer to write down the sex of the baby in a card for DH and I to open on Christmas morning. It will probably be the only present we get for each other.

Looking forward to hearing from more ladies and finding out how they are going.

Tan - fx for the scan, everything's going to be perfect I just know it

Pitter patter - feels like I've been PG forever already. Wishing you a speedy next few weeks to half way Remember when we all changed our nicknames in the TWW thread and then promptly got UTD. Mine was the very month I changed mine from Maybe Baby to Baby V! Coincidence, I think not

Hi SouthKiwi! Would be good to hear from the others from 2012 as I was also TTC back then (just gone a year since we TTC last year on 20 Oct).

Tan, I'm so excited for you and you're scan!!! What a great idea about the gender thing :-)
edited to add... Tan, I haven't really had any bad headaches since getting acupuncture! I'm a total fan now. Have you heard much about it for morning sickness. I just know last time I felt awful all day every day and would love to have something like that to fall back on ;-)

I might join you ladies. I was lurking for a long time at the start of the year so saw you all get your BFP's. I was TTC in 2012 but then DH moved to aussie and we had 8 months apart…. started again in 2013. So kind of fit in both.
Fingers crossed this is a sticky one for me. It was lovely to see a heartbeat on Friday (didn't get that last time). I cried :D

Have had really bad morning sickness but fingers crossed that seems to be fading a bit now (at almost 17 weeks), still super tired though! We have our 20 week scan on Nov 28th and we're hoping to find out the gender then if we can.

So great to see all you ladies progressing well, exciting times!!

Avid, I had my 20 week scan two weeks ago, at 18 weeks and 2 days. They said it was a bit early and they werent sure if they were going to be able to see everything and take the mesurements they needed. We were very lucky because they saw everything they needed to see, even beanie's private bits lol! Has anyone heard from Arielangel? I remember her from the TWW thread

This made me so happy to see this thread, with all these positive TTC stories! It has been a long and/or painful journey for a lot of us and it is nice to keep in touch with you all and hear how you are all doing. I found it hard to go back to the TTC forum, a little bit like I shouldn't be there?? so I haven't really popped in much to see how everyone is doing...feel a bit guilty about that.

23 weeks 1 day today, feel great, getting big and have really popped in the last few days! Feeling lots of kicks now and DH felt the baby kick for the first time nearly 2 weeks ago, was the most amazing thing ever. I didn't really feel anything until about 20 weeks, so if some of you get worried, don't! It will happen :) and being pregnant really hasn't sunk in until I have felt the baby kick, now I know I definitely am and that is reassuring every day :)

Hey vineyard, good to hear from you! 23 week's already! That is so nice about baby kicking! I am hanging out for that, they say I should be feeling it soon with baby number 2 but not convinced anything I've felt so far isn't gas. Is mousey in yr due in group? Seem to remember sh got her bfp about th same time? Did u keep doing acupuncture when prego?

Hey pitter patter! I haven't heard from mousey at all? I kept up the acupuncture weekly until 12 weeks...not sure if it did much, but I have nothing to compare it to, and I loved the weekly sessions - was very relaxing for me. Plus I basically did not feel pregnant at all - no sickness, hunger, cravings or anything, just really sore and growing boobs! which i did not need at all!

Pitter Patter how far along are you now?
I have nearly got nursery done, I started from scratch so stripped wallpaper and painted etc just got to finish decorating then it will be finished, got all the furniture. At times I still don't think its real even though I see midwife every 2 weeks and we are going to antenatal classes etc, I hope it sinks in for me soon.

Thanks Kumeroa - I sure hope I make it past 12w. I know this probably sounds silly but last BFP I was really anxious the whole time that I would m/c. This time even though I DID m/c last time I am feeling sooo positive about this baby that I doesn't stress me nearly as much as last time. Fingers crossed its mothers intuition :D

Hey Everyone, I think I get to come back in here now.. I am about 4-5 weeks I think. my LMP was my mc so am unsure. Am booked in for a dating scan on 23rd and had dr appt today he said to try not to worry and to get on with finding a midwife. He didnt do blood tests because said it would just be something else to worry about and dating scan much more accurate. I will be due sometime in late august I suspect.

Yay for 2 weeks to go! Big babies are nice and easy to birth, just try to stay as upright and moving as possible and gravity will help them out. My 2 were 9lb10 and 9lb1 (in that order) and I had no problem, birthing on hands and knees or upright helps prevent shoulder dystocia too as it gives room for the bones in your back to pop out while baby comes through :)

Yay for meeting MW and (hopefully) good blood results Lease. Too bad your hubby doesn't want to get checked, that would save a lot of extra injections for you if he's negative as well.

Ooooh Jessaroo that's so close now and with Christams in the middle that week or 2 will just fly past. Have you told family or are you waiting till afterwards?

So nice to know you are all doing well.

Wow Kumeroa, 2 weeks!!! How exciting! Are you having a c-section?

The heat is killing me! and having low blood pressure doesn't help... I think I will get a swimming pool from the warehouse and get DF to set it up for me, should be nice!

Has anyone heard from ArielAngel and Kalika? I remember them from the TWW thread. Just wondering how they are doing.

Happy New Year :)

I'm doing good, first MW appt. in AGES tomorrow (had to reschedule our last appt. as she was in hospital with another client :) )
I'll be 19 weeks on Friday so should get to hear babies heartbeat tomorrow :)
Already feeling kicks and even a couple of stronger boompfs yesterday :D
I need to write a list of questions as I'm planning my first homebirth (3rd child) and want to know what the midwife provides vs what I need to provide. I didn't bother asking too much prior to 14 weeks as I didn't feel a real need to know if I ended up miscarrying but now its time to sort stuff out :)
Went camping and had a great time over the weekend!

When is induction date Kumeroa? I didn't realise they still induced for a (maybe) large baby when there's no other problems as inductions often cause more interventions and problems than they solve and most women birth big babies easily with no problems. Its hard to know if a baby will be big before they are born as scans are only right 50% of the time.

Induction date is the 8th so only a day before my due date, Having trouble with swelling and my blood pressure now. Yeah as it is my first baby they aren't sure what my body can do so I think that is the reason. Its not an easy decision to make but we are talking a 5kg baby at full term so is a really decent size.

Exciting kumeroa! Not long now!
Lease hope yr midwife app goes well and you too kalimarella.
Not much to report, 22 weeks. Lots of nice big kicks now. Scan at 20 week's went well but have to have another at 32 just to check placenta has moved up. Starting to think a bit about the birth now, hoping to avoid a c sec this time but will depend on the placenta and hopefully bubs not breech this time around.
So exciting you are going to be a mum any day now kumeroa! How are you feeling?

Hi all

I'm a late arrival to this thread too - great idea Tan, I know we "talked" about it in the TTC 30+ thread but didn't realise you'd started it!

Hi Nell & Tan (from that thread)!! Hi South and Vineyard (from my due in thread)

I'm almost 29 weeks, so not long to go now! Starting to get a bit freaked out about all the stuff we need to do/buy, plus the stuff I have to do at work (with less than 45 days to go - eek!)

hope you've all had a great christmas and new year. I've had a nice break but back to work on Monday - yay! Looking forward to hearing how all your journeys are going.

Not long to go for you now, have you got any time to get stuff organised between work finishing and bubs arriving? Is this yr first (sorry can't see signatures if it's on there)

Hi pitter patter

Yep, this is our first. We were TTCing for about 2 1/2 years before falling pregnant so pretty exciting that we finally did. We were very lucky that we didn't need help, I was starting to think that maybe we might.

I hope we've got enough time to sort stuff out. I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that we probably won't be buying a house before bubs arrives (limited availability on the market), so thats probably one less thing on my mind. But we do need to buy a car (we live in the middle of the city, so until now haven't really needed one, and can borrow MILs if ever we've needed one), and can't sort the carseat until we've got the car, plus I'm a bit weary about which buggy to buy without knowing which car (and therefore how big the boot is). We do have a cot and a change table, though, so thats a good start. Its just the rest of the things really (clothes, etc).

Hey Pitter Patter.

I am doing ok. no vomitting yet but Nauseous every day all day usually until dinner and then I am good til the next morning. I am working on different theories, eating more often, etc. Definately have Aversions to food. have gone off Chocolate (which DP is trying to disown me for) dessert, most unhealthy things, potato chips etc. I am loving fresh fruit so definately need to buy more, and fresh bread is a bit of a craving. fresh tomatoes too. I guess its a good thing.
I have put our scales away so I stop worrying about my weight. the MW will weigh me to get a general idea of how things are going. I have a dating scan on tuesday so hopefully that will go well.

DP and I's best friends are currently pregnant too, they have been trying for 2 years, and have just reached 12 weeks which is extremely exciting!!

How is everyone else going?

Hey Porterlou, I remember you from my short stay when we were trying for our 2nd. I'm so happy to see you're well over halfway to meeting your own lovely bubba.

My midwife appt. went well, good blood pressure (I've had borderline high blood pressure with my previous 2 bubbas)and uterus/bubba growing well, feeling lots of kicks/rolls/wiggles.
She couldn't hear the heartbeat yet using a pinard (was only 19weeks) so I've got that to look forward to next appointment which isn't till 13th of feb thanks to Waitangi day falling on a Thursday this year (she only comes down this way once a week for antenatal appts.).

Lease does your ticker need updating? Its got you as 8 weeks not 12. And congratulations on the 12 week mark and same for getting over 13 weeks Jessaroo :) Sure makes it more real :)

Oh as for holidays, we're just about to leave tomorrow and will be gone for most of 3 weeks so really looking forward to that, a beach holiday followed by staying with and catching up with my family which I do twice a year as they're 4-5 hour drive away and I don't get to see them very often otherwise.

Wow! HI everyone! I haven't been on here for a long time. I mostly hang out in my due in thread on fb. I have also just had a lovely time away in Northland, camping, so no internet or phone coverage there.

The camping was a bit of a challenge - long drop toilet, bringing in own drinking water, so being careful with the tank water there for cooking and washing etc. Solar shower, and chilly bin food storage. Luckily we located a fridge which made life a bit easier for me. I was so paranoid about germs and food hygiene! Anyway, I started to relax by the end and really enjoyed it and then we came home! Hehe.

I have started nesting by getting out all the baby stuff I have bought from Trade Me or been given. I only have a few new bits and pieces. The rest, including the big ticket items are second hand. Although I really don't want to spend the money, there is something to be said for buying brand new! I have found second hand to be far less exciting, but DH and I have both agreed to buy as much as we can second hand as it all only lasts for such a short time.

Anyhoo, because I have managed to buy everything second hand, DH has agreed we can buy a change table new. It's a bit of a funny thing because out of everything we have, I would have thought this would be the thing we would definitely not buy new - they are so expensive and don't resell for very much, but they are one of those things that I would like to have to save my back and I need to check it out in person as I am quite tall. The only other thing we are intending on buying new is the car seat as we will have that for a while.

I still have minor freak outs with aches and pains etc, but I am learning more and more that these are normal, and it is so much easier now I can feel bubs moving around and kicking etc, which he does all the time.

Oh, and yes, we are having a boy! I was so happy. For some reason, I was convinced it was a girl. We got the sonographer to write it down in a card and we found out on Christmas Day, and she said something which made me think it was a girl. I cried when I found out as I think I really wanted a boy a little more than a girl. Just in case anyone else would like to do this idea...I got the card from the sonographer and I went to Pumpkin Patch. I chose a boy outfit and a girl outfit (same price) and asked the girl at the counter to look in the card and wrap the appropriate outfit while I was away doing something else. Then we opened it on Christmas Day. It was the coolest surprise ever! It works for Christmas, but I guess if you have a birthday or something you could do it for that. Or even just at a special dinner for the two of you, to find out. Well, I should stop now, lest this turn into an even bigger novel! Hope everyone is well. xx

SO back to hospital tomorrow morning for round 2 of induction. Hopefully this goes smoother

I have news on the Kalika front - I'm sure she wouldn't mind me sharing. She had a little girl on Friday 13 September. They named her Haidee Christina. She spent 2 days in labour during that awful wind storm with no power or phone but all went well. Great to see so many old names on here! Once you're UTD it's hard to keep up with the TWW people on a regular basis so it's nice to know how everyone is going.

haha jessaroo! yes, very, very tempted. At the 20 week scan, we straight away said "we don't want to know", yet both of us were eagerly watching the scan to try and see if we can guess! DH adamant he saw boy bits, I think he was wishful thinking. I have gone as far as to google and compare a particular scan image...and pretty sure its a girl BUT 13 week nub shot looks like a boy... BUT I have also read that from our 20 week scan image, it could still be a boy as the centre line is much longer than outer two (for those in the know!) 6-7 weeks time we will find out I guess!

Yup, DH's dad thinks its a boy (apparently that is the only option for your firstborn?? Males I tell ya!) mum said the other day she thinks its a boy now too, although she said she doesn't know why as she would really really like me to have a girl!

Lots of friends and strangers tell me girl - thnk the old "you're carrying high" thing is what dictates that. I don't buy that sort of thing at all, however I kind of think it might be a girl too? Trying not to think about it too much as will be happy with either!

Don't worry about the scan thing, they are more likely right than wrong these days

And we don't have a clue about names yet, we can't picture what we like or anything, feel like this poor baby might be an unnamed child for a few days haha!

Oh yes and the name thing! I hadnt even considered that! Haha we have a boy name secured so if we find out in a month that we have a girl we will be back to the drawing board!

We saw a gender announcement for a boy which is a bit rude but thought it was hilarious to do - where you literally announce - "well it's official, Jess is growing a penis!" - a lot of people would cringe but it's bang on with DH's sense of humour so hopefully they wouldn't be too surprised haha!

Are you waiting to buy the gear or mostly just buying neutral items? Sorry for all the questions! Not many people choose not to find out these days so I am curious! haha

Jess - I wasn't sure about finding out but I am so glad we did. I waited to buy stuff until we knew what we were having and it also meant that we were further enough along that I felt a little bit 'safer'. I have had so much fun buying and receiving little boys' clothing and doing some knitting. It's been really nice thinking of him as a little boy already and at least this way we only have to consider names for one gender. I think having a surprise is fun too but I know that for us, we made the right decision to find out.

Waiting to buy the gear, pretty much haven't bought anything! Baby shower in 2 weeks time so will top up things after that. I have got the odd gender neutral thing and some boy and some girl pieces of clothing. It helps that I'm not that much of a fan of pretty pink and boy blue - I quite like orange, yellow, green, red and grey! I bet things might change once baby comes along though

Haha and that gender announcement bang on with our sense of humour, I'd laugh at that!

Yeah Tan I think for #2 I would find out, its been really hard not knowing but I am excited about the surprise!

My friends have threatened to wait outside the Radiology room as I have my scan incase I forget to let them know haha

With my 5y/o they gave me a 60% chance of boy at the NT scan then confirmed it at the 20 week - I'm convinced this one is a girl since they wouldn't tell me either way! lol

Hi everyone

So much to catch up on! Tan, I'm amazed at you, going camping! I'm not even brave enough to go when I'm not pregnant, let alone now. Glad you had a good time.

congrats Kalika on the baby, Kumeroa, how are you getting on?

Hi to everyone else!

We don't know what we're having, I wanted to keep it a surprise so DF didn't really have a choice. I told him if we have another, he can choose if we find out or not, although he's quite happy not knowing, it seems. We also have no idea about names, have one potential girl name but thats it. We are going to wait until baby comes out and then find something that fits, so ours will probably have no name for a few days as well!

I'm doing pretty good, have hit the single digit week countdown which is quite scary. We have so much to do still. We have all the big stuff purchased except for a buggy, and my sister has just given us her capsule since at 7 months its time her daughter went into a bigger seat (quite a timely trip north for us this past weekend). Bubs is a very busy and active baby, seemingly always moving around. I'm getting a few braxton hicks contractions now, which are weird, they seem to be getting more intense, although not painful so I know its just braxton hicks. A few other niggles but nothing too major, I'm doing pretty well I think.

Hope you're all well xx
