I was just wondering if there is any other expectant mums in Wellington/ Hutt Valley area?
My names Monique, I'm 23 and live in Lower Hutt with DF Nathan and our beautiful daughter Haleigh (29.9.05) and we are expecting our second child next year around end of June.

Hi Monique
I am Claire, I live in Vogeltown in Wellington and Bingo is due in January. It's nice to contact other mothers in the area as I am a little bit short of friends who are pregnant and mothers, comes from a life of worka nd travelling. Neil and I are both 36, and moved to Wellington from the UK 3 years ago and have no plans to go back at all. I tend to lurk about in the January thread as I don't get as much chance to use the site with working full time, but my hours reduce soon and I will be able to explore more fully.

I'm due in June, where abouts is Vogeltown? (I'm still not all that familiar with Wellington yet)

I live in Lower Hutt (currently work in Wellington CBD) and am pregnant with our first bubba! Due end of April.
I don't know too many people with little ones, but I'm sure that will all change soon. I'm looking forward to meeting some more local mums-to-be through the antenatal classes etc.

Shall we say like Next week on Tuesday?
Now where? LOL How about at Queensgate? at a coffee place by the warehouse?
|

During the week - I can only make a Wellington City location. I can make it anywhere on the weekend though

Well I dont recomend Gloria Jeans beside the Warehouse, they dont like mums and babies much as we found out, they used to treat us like dirt everytime we went in there so we stopped going.
Weekend could be good for those of you that work then you dont miss out.
I'm happy with whatever day is chosen, I dont drive so Lower Hutt would be easier for me, then I can taxi home lol (my hill to hard to walk up with bub lol).

Hey Wellington mamas and mamas-to-be... I'm going to start doing modern cloth nappy demonstrations. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll get something sorted. (Just an informal coffee group where I can bring along my 'wares' to show ya.)
I'm not in it for the big sell... mostly to introduce people to the modern cloth concept. A lot of people have not seen the cute little naps we have now!
Anyway... I ramble.

We are going cloth for this bubs and so we're pricing out cloth nappies at the moment to buy soon.

Nikki, that sounds great, really interested in the concept of cloth nappies, but would be great to see a variety of brands if that was what you had in mind. I finish work in 3 weeks (yay) so can be around anytime. Let me know what you had in mind, I am happy for people to come round to my place, if there was a group of us on here who wanted to see your wares

Excellente!
I am going to have swaddlebees, mummy's touch, and pea pod - in fitteds, all in ones, and pockets. Check out http://www.mumandbubs.co.nz - www.mumandbubs.co.nz to see info in the mean time!
I also have my own stash of fuzzis, but they are over a year old now and in size large - not nearly as cute as the small and fluffy little ones. But I'll bring my kidlet adorned in one of those for you to check out for comparison.

Well we were all thinking of meeting up for lunch one day to look at the cloth nappies once Nikki is all sorted
I know what you mean by wandering Haleigh wandered off from the playground in queensgate when she was only 10months, cuaght her running for the esculators
I need to have her on a leash these days shes that quick lol.
Ive been down at the park by the Hutt Library thats a good open space they have the playground and a big open area aswell. We also have a good playground across the road from us too, as long as theres daisys in the ground Haleigh will be occupied

Doesn't have to be all at once!
I have the whole uni holidays to fill in!
Jo - if it's a wednesday, I am childless and I can come help you fill in a lunch-break. Maybe you could get people of 'child bearing age' in your office to have a look too
