hi would like some advice on night time tantrums, my daughter has been waking up in the middle of the night screaming the house down she doesnt want me to pick her up or leave her alone i have two older boys that never did this i have tried ignoring soothing holding tightly even sleeping on the floor so she can see me but nothing is working, my partner gets up at three for work which makes her screaming more stressful as he needs his sleep any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds more like night terrors than a tantrum, my little one (2) has had mild ones and he cries out for me but I cant touch him or pull the covers up without screaming happening, I just end up talking in a soothing voice until he goes back to sleep, I dont believe he knows Im there even thou he looks at me and tells me no. Sorry not any great advice but they do grow out of it, my older one (4) never had them

I'll be watching with interest as my 3yo does the same.  If we don't manage to calm him down in the first 2-3 minutes it can turn into a massive hour-long tantrum complete with hallway antics and endless screaming!
