Not sure how to explain this but something strange happened to me this morning. I woke up early and had a normal morning (shower, b'fast, drove to work). When I arrived, I was feeling quite strange - I was weak, hot, out of breath, my heart felt like it was beating faster than normal and I had trouble catching my breath, I had to really try and focus my eyes too or things were a little blurry . I also ended up rushing to the loo twice with dhiarea
At the end, I had to go and have a quiet sit down and sip water for a little while until I felt better. That was this morning and I have felt fine since. I'm seeing my m/w tomorrow a/noon so I'll mention it but I wonder if this has happened to anyone else and what it could be. Should I be more worried? What do you guys think?

Have felt the same way for past couple of months on and off when getting to work in the morning. I spoke to MW and also a Doctor I work with they both said that it can be a morning dip with the whole BP thing. When your BP drops it can have these effects. Did you find as the day went on you felt better. Better to let mw know this as well Hope you are feeling better soon.

Yeah, I was going to say - sounds like low blood pressure. Keep some snacks on you and mention it to midwife.

Even if you normally have normal to low BP if it does drop a little during pregnancy it can cause the problems you described.

I agree, sounds like low BP to me. I've had the same through both my pregnancies.
Make sure you drink lots of water to keep it balanced too.

I was going to say - I always take water with me now as I can feel a bit faint and it helps.
Still mention to your midwife but as everyone has said its normal and should be okay

Yeah I normally have low Bp as well sittting around 100/70, but have been dizzy and woozy and taken my Bp and it has dropped to 80/60. This definitely causing me to feel spaced out and sometimes nauseaous. Definitely water and healthy snacks does help.

I don't generally have trouble with my BP but I get a dip in the mornings as well. I've had it all through the pregnancy but not so noticeable during the middle months. Lying down flat (or sleeping ), having a cup of yoghurt, all seems to help. Hope your m/w is able to shed some light for you.

Thanks guys. I'll talk to her tomorrow - if it's low BP I'll survive - I was worried that maybe I'm getting high BP and will be put on bed rest or something! I'd hate to be forced to stay at home - you know how it is - it's only nice until you have to do it.
I'll report back tomorrow with what she says.

I have just seen my m/w and she thought the whole thing was quite strange too. She seemed to think that what I had experienced was not quite what happens in a low BP drop. She mentioned something about heart rate and something something - it's all left my head now. If it happens again she wants me to have a blood test and get it checked - she's put some medical reffereal note in my file. I just hope it doesn't happen again - I have been OK today.

I'll try and work until I'm 38 weeks so quite a while to go still. Hope I'm OK and that it has been a one-off thing.

Sure hope so. Sounds like you did the best thing anyway, glass of water and sitting down for a bit. Take care!

That happened to me too - it was a 'normal' pregnancy thing, my midwife said (well, caused by needing to eat, a hot day, busy, tired, and standing in rather high heels for a bit long). After then I just carried a little snack bag of dried fruits in my handbag, and kept water on me all the time. Glad your midwife is playing it safe for you - can't go wrong.

Yeah me too my MW said with low bp sometimes there is also low blood sugar so having a sweet snack can help as well.

Yeah I had this with low blood sugar levels. I kept some barley sugars in my bag and in the car and snacked on them!

Thanks guys - it's reasurring to know I'm not the only one. I'm hoping still it's a one off and have taken to drinking a nice creamy latte in the morning to help with the low bp That and the milk has calcium - I'll just ignore the caffeine. I seem to do much better in the morning now so fingers crossed.

I have had this also.... quite a few times and I find it quite scary.
I have diarrhoea also when is happens, get very hot and sweaty. Plus nausea, dizziness, my legs go weak and I can't stand up.
I am at work when it happens, in the morning also. Very embarrassing sometimes! I had to get a work mate to help me this morning because I thought I was going to faint.
So no one thinks this is serious or hurting the baby? At the time, it feels just horrible. I have breakfast in the morning - do I need to be eating something more sugary?

Drinking lots of water is really good for balancing out your blood pressure.
I was hopeless for remembering to drink enough and found that keeping a sipper bottle with me at all times helped me drink more.
Also, keep snacking. Raisins or other dried fruits are good for discreet snacks, or fresh fruit if you can.

Sweet things help to get the blood sugar up quickly but don't forget to eat something a bit more sustaining at the same time so you will still be okay 1/2 hr later.
holgal it won't harm your baby but there are different things you can do to make you feel better.... would pay to talk it over with your m/w.

holgal, although it seems to happen/have happened to a few ppl on here my m/w still said to let her know at once if it happens again as she wants to do blood tests etc. Thank goodness I have been OK so for me has been a one-off so far. I'd talk to your m/w if I were you just in case though - better safe than sorry

I have spoken to my mw and have had blood tests/lab samples to do. Supposedly it is common to have moments of your heartbeat increasing, but it is not normal to have diarrhoea with it. I think the labs are on strike for 2 more days, but hopefully I will get some results shortly after that.
