I thought it was time to start this thread off...
Xavier is now 6 days old. He's sleeping well, eating well (2-3 hourly), burping not quite so well (so is a little spilly at times), and is starting to have awake periods during the day. Kiya and Josiah are both very proud of their little brother, and there hasn't been any jealousy so far that I've noticed!
I'm doing good... my tummy is disappearing, but given that Xavier is quite a bit bigger than either of the other two, there's a bit of work to do! I'm going to start going for walks now that the weather is finally getting nicer.
We got our new double pushchair yesterday - a Phil & Ted one... Nathaniel loves it! He wants to get all the accessories, its so cute! We walked to Kiya's school for parent/teacher interviews last night, and the puschair is so wonderful to use... much better than our old single one, even with both boys in it.

Good idea Becca. Glad to hear you and Xavier are doing well, hopefully Xavier starts burping as I know what a spilly bubs is like. And it sounds like Kiya and Josiah are adjusting really well.
The Phil & Ted buggy sounds great, ideally that would have been my first choice but I had to settle for a side-by-side umbrella style one, haven't been brave enough to use it yet.
I am going for daily walks, mainly to try and shift this jelly belly (its driving me nuts) and just getting out of the house is great. My mum has been staying with us so I have been able to leave the girls with her and have some time to myself. But unfortunately she took off this morning so I don't think I will be getting out and about as much.
Stephanie is doing well, growing heaps, shes almost grown out of her newborn clothes already! Just have to work on her night time routine, at the moment the longest she will sleep for is 2 hours, then she'll be awake for 1 1/2 hours. I've been sleeping on the sofa so that DH can get a good nights sleep.
Went clothes shopping on Monday (early xmas present form Mum) as I don't want to wear my maternity stuff but it will be awhile before I can squeeze back into my pre-preggy stuff, so its really nice to have some clothes that fits properly. The lady in the shop did ask me when I was due which was rather embarrasing, never mind.

I do have a photo of him jst been pulled out of my tummy but thought it might be a little gorie for some people ... Blood stuff.
Will post birth story when I get my head around everything.. baby brain to the max.
We went on our first outing last night to see Rhyley's older sister Brooke in her drama play, I went prepared with pillow, water and blanket (hey I just had a baby) Rhyley slept thru the whole thing even when the lady behind us was taking sooooooooooo many photos the flash was giving me a head ache DH said he thought I was going to turn round and give her an ear full (the mood I was in - don't mess with a just given birth mother in pain hehe) but no after all she just wanted to get her kids/grand kids on camera.
First night at home I decided to put Rhyley in with us --- hence he is in his own room tonight. He slept 2 1/2 hours then woke up and messed about on boobie and dummy (yes I get it out to give it a go anything for some sleep) for 2 hours then finally settled again and slept from 3.30am till 8am, I lay him in bed with me for another half hour then we got up, he actually didn't feed till around 9.15am but then it was a good feed. He is getting to like the dummy as the Midwife at the home said he seems to suckle on me for comfort alot of the time, and that can get sore. Hes also go a bit of jaundice but feeding and is alert when awake so no biggie just yellows skinned.
All in all things are going good and I a surprised how I feel quite good after only having surgery 5 days ago. I have tried not to push it though and only done 'easy' house work.

Thanks Suzi I am guessing your older two are not your husband biological children? Same here, but Dh is getting sick of people asking him how it feels like being a dad , he keeps reminding them that he was already a Dad (very cool to say that).
I do have to fight for the 'my' time with Rhyley when he is awake and alert as Dh and Brooke are always wanting him - fair enough I guess but I do like to have time with him when hes not just feeding off me. Josh is saying he is always sleeping when he wants a cuddle. Oh to be that popular.. :-)

Boy what a night, Rhyley woke at 12 to muck about till 1.30 then woke again at 3.30 and I got to bed around 5a m, to wake at 6.30am this is when I put him in bed with us and he slept till 8.30am, I know your not to share beds but it was the only way I was going to keep sane and get some sleep. He is using my nipple as comfort, I have tried with the dummy which works for a little while but then hes awake again wanting my nipple. I was so tired this morning when he had a sleep at 10am so did I , although once again had to put him in with me after an hour.
I also fon't know what my DH is off work for because he has been in the shed all day and I feel I have been left to do thehouse work, I was so embarrased the Midwife came today and the house was a mess, nt to mention the bathroom which I had 'asked' Dh to do earlier but all he did was the bath and shower, not hand basin and tiolet. Anyhow i THINK I shall have a chat with him as I know hes not mucking about in the shed and he is doing things that we have put off for ages but i don't want to be doing lots of housework or else I will do some damage, I mean i am getting spasms in my back which the midwife said I need to make sure I am not over doing it, which I feel I have today.
Anyway anyone else having a restless baby and if you have come out on the other end of it what worked for you?

Hi anne james was hard to settle my midwife got me to do the controlled crying thing to teach him to settle himself and I also am taken him to the osteopath to try and help him sleeping better too both of them seem to be helping. Just working on him to sleep a bit longer at nite now then we will all be happy
Also I ask my partner to help with housework sometimes either I end up doing it myself or he does a half arsed job of it so it's just easier for me to do it.
But you should take it easy as you just had a major operation not even a week ago.
Once again congratulations

Oh and sleep - ah yes sleep. Rhyley kept me up for 3 hours last night mucking about. Discovered he was cold and did then sleeping on the chair in his room thing and oil heater on and he slept till 4am. Then back to sleep at 5am where I got into my own bed and woke at just after 8am. I did catch as sleep at 11am till 12.30 so feel semi human. I just thought I need to let him get himself to sleep and so it may take a few nights although not wanting to let him cry as hes only little (sucker aren't I)
Had hip check today and all is fine. Sometimes with breeched babies the way rhyley was in the womb they can get a little cautsious but nope alls well there.

I think Debbie had the only girl, Stephanie?
Congrats Herewego Hope all is going well for you xx
Well Im off to buy some fluffy pants today .. I had to change the little munchkin three times last night as he had wet his clothes ... even with huggies on .. he must have just been full of wee's!! Most nights he doesnt do this but by the third change at 5am I was well over it!!
Im the same as you Ann, such a sucker for not letting Thomas cry. Im starting to think I should try and cut out or stretch out night feeds from 3 to 4 hours (it was every 3 hours bang on last night - which by the time he fed and was changed etc etc equated to 2 and abit hours sleep). He is still in our room so cant really leave him to cry as hubby needs his sleep but hubby is away this weekend so might just see how I go.
Thomas also had his hips checked too .. all good
Time is flying by so quickly ... Im starting to panic about going back to work already ... Im going to look at how we can juggle the budget and see if I really have to LOL ... I like this SAHM thing ... pick up some part time work or something ...
Ive still got a rash thing going on .. I thought it must be a reaction to the anaestetic (sp) but if it was that it should have cleared by now .. so .. off to the docs today ..
Happy hump day Novemberoovies! (it is wednesday isnt it???? I loose track hehehe)

My midwife was saying that they can get over causious with breeched babies and their hips (something being safe as their legs take a while to drop) so the factt hat it was a week after I had Rhyley gave him time to drop his legs.
Suzi hope your rash is sorted. I am on the last day of my antibiotics - I don't know if I told you when I was in the home I ran a really high temp and hot and cold shivers, took tests and the day afterwardss I felt like I was getting a UTI so just to be on the safe side they put me on antibiotics.
Had a good nite with Rhyley compared to the last couple. He is still micking about lathing on... I feel its because my milk just pours into his mouth he gets chocked. but he did a 5 hour stint from 5am so i got to 'sleep in' LOL although still broken sleep being up for an hour or so getting him fed and settled again.

Hi ladies, good to see you are all doing well! Sorry I've been so slack about posting... having a newborn, a toddler and a school-kid tend to keep you a little busy!
Xavier is doing well. I don't know what his current weight is (my midwife is off sick today, so I should see her tomorrow or Monday instead) but he's certainly growing well! He'd lost 160g on his 3 day old check, but had gained that back plus a further 200g by the time he was 1 week old.
He's eating well, sleeping fairly well, and I think I've fixed the burping problem. I've found out that if I don't let him feed for more than 5-6 minutes at a time I can get the wind out easily, but if he feeds longer than that it becomes a struggle. So now I feed him for 5 minutes, burp him, change him, then offer the other side, let him feed for 5 minutes, burp him, then offer the second side again (which he takes about half the time) for as long as he wants - usually a further 3 or 4 minutes. Xavier has put himself into a 3 hour routine over the last 36 or so hours, so that's helping no end!

Oh, and yesterday I was about to change Xavier, and a friend who was visiting said she'd go and grab the clean nappy for me... Josiah took off down the hall, and came back with 4 of his own nappies which he then gave me - for Xavier! So cute!

Rhyley is sleeping during night really good. takes an hour or so to feed as I don't know if anyone has the same problem but Rhyley takes at least 15 minutes to properlt latch on I think its cause my milk just pours out of my breast into his mouth and over flows it (i am prepared with a towel around me and him which gets soaked) I see my midwife tomorrow so will ask her advise but wanted to see if anyone had this problem and what helped. once on he feeds really well.

I had a similar problem with Kiya, Ann... I used to express until I'd eased the flow, then put her on. After a week or so of doing this, it all settled down.

I thought of that but he doesn't have a routine so can't do it before he feeds and he'd wake everyone crying if I left him to cry whilst doing it. I am hoping milk supply will settle and not produce so much but as its leaking out I feel it will only replace what it thinks has been used.
I will keep in mind though as I do have an express pump and if it gets too much I will just have to use it.
when did you start using a bottle with expressed milk (if you did) I heard of nipple confusion and so don't want to add another thing to confuse Rhyley (if its not my milk flow thats making him muck about). I know Dh is wanting to feed him too.( call me selfish but I don't want to share that part yet, it mine and Rhyley's special thing together that no one else can do with him)

I just used to hand-express into a flannel, just until the milk stopped spraying out hard. I didn't give Kiya a bottle until I started supplimenting with formula at 5 months.
I first gave Josiah a bottle with expressed milk at around 8 months, when he refused to feed from one boob for a couple of days.

ah i have figured why rhyley unsettled today - his poos were stinging him as he had a red bum at nappy changed, have bathed and put cream on and he seems much happier, funny i have had the runs past couple of days i do hope i haven't past somethg onto him.
I will try to express into the towel before offering it to rhyley tonight to see how it goes, it might not choke him so much although sure he'll get impatient with me before hand.
Oh and Becca i was so wrapped in my problems I forgot to say how cute of Josiah bringing his nappy for baby, u almost want to use it when they do that - although fall of xavier

Hello Everyone! Sorry I've been MISSING IN ACTION, for a while. Hamish arrived on the 24th of November, in a rather fast unplanned home birth (didnt have enough time to get to the birthing centre!) We had a couple of lovely first few days with him, but since my milk came in, he's been crying HEAPS. We seem to be averaging around 1.5 hours of crying after a feed, as he has horrendous wind, and cant seem to move it. Th poor wee fellow seems to be in soooo much pain, and nothing we do seems to help...
It sort of limits my spare time for chatting.
Oh well, I better head off. But will try to pop back again in a day of two, for a decnt catch up!

Congrats herewego and welcome Hamish :)
An unplanned homebirth aye .. cant wait to hear the details!!
Hope Hamish is sorting out the wind thing chick .. you've probably been told this already but have you considered taking him to have some cranial work done?
Another pic of Thomas .. he really loves his baths :)
our little possum!
Thomas has got quite bad hormone spots poor boy .. and Ive had an allergy thing flare up, one of my eyes is raw and almost swollen shut .. the only thing I can do is take one claratine a day
looks really gross ... my gp was abit useless about it and I really dont know who else to see about it .. ah well .. thank goodness for sunglasses! I had an all over rash after the CS which is still there in patches so im thinking pregnancy/cs has all buggered me up and with the pollen around at the moment its causing the eye thing ...
Hows your milk thing going Ann? How come you were on antibiotics? I went on them too when I got home just as a precautionary thing...
THomas is still sleeping for 3 hours max at night, although he is settling back to sleep alot quicker. And since hubby was away last night I didnt get up to thomas's 5am whinge and he went back to sleep until 8am!! Magic!!

Milk is there in abunance - poor Rhyley gets a mouth full in one cryie glup and chokes, but it is only about 5 mins mucking about noe instead of the 15 min plus. I try to express it out when he is getting burped and I am only feeding off the one boob each feed to slow down the build up (although the other one leaks when feeding)
But on a high note nite time sleep are great with Rhyley, most nights I will get a 4 - 5 hour stint followed by a 3-4 hour, last nite was the best though putting him to bed at 11.30pm (and me) and not waking up till 7am - I kid you not I actually woke up at 6am and thought I had better check him and there he was sound asleep. It be nice if he keep it up but not being a first time mum I know these things can change as much as the weather.\
I was on antibiotics as I was geting a very high temp all the time, hot and cold shivers and they suspected becuase after I did wee's my lower tummy was heavy and sore that I would develope a UTI. I been getting a burning pain when I get up from lying down at the side of my scar that really hurts but today seems to hav settled again.
I am hoping to get out for a walk tomorrow - I keepp putting it off I think I am scared that I will get to where I want to go and then be so sore can't make it home or I get home ok but then pay for it the rest of the day. I am sure Rhyley would love the ride. DH goes back to work tomorrow so can't get him to go do erans for me.
Not good about your eye SUzi I hope it clears up soon, you not had much luck with rashes since having Thomas. As for his milk spots my daughter got heaps of them too.

Thomas is just gorgeous Suzie glad to hear hes settling better now at nite and that he slept to 8 thats great.
James is slowly stretching out is 2am feed so I hope he keeps doing that it's now at 2:30 then he wakes up again at 6:30 I just wish he would settle a bit better during the day samedays he goes straight to sleep then other days he just doesn't seem to want to sleep at all i think he just gets a little overtired then thats it he want godown for ages so I have to keep a close eye out for those tired signs.
But he's talking and smiling more everyday and he's just about rolled over and just about pushed him around in a full circle on the floor he has quite strong legs.
So whats everyone up to for christmas we are going up to Warkworth for christmas as that is were I grew up and it's my turn to spend it with my family so James will have his first plain ride in a couple of weeks i can't wait to see my family and friends as I havn't been up there for a year.
Wow Anne thats a great sleep I would have done the same and would of been panicking I hope he keeps on sleeping through for you.
Hope your eye clears up soon suzie I used to get hayfever really bad so I know what its like to have sore itchy eyes it's not very nice.

Lovely photo of you danni-chick and James. I tend to stay clear of any cameras so not many with me in it although have a few with part face just to prove i was there.
Christmas - which I haven't done any shopping for yet - we are doing what we always do - my parents for traditional english dinner (at 2pm) the roast, christmas ham and the works, my brother is over from Oz so will be good, and for him to meet his newest nephew. then the night time we have a pot luck tea at one of DH families and this year its at his mothers so its in town so no need to travel with baby. Its such a hectic day but lots of fun.
James seems to be taking off in leeps and bounds. mY sil CAME ROUND this weekend as they live in Palmy and she has a 4 half month old son Brandon and before Rhyley was born he seems so little well now he is huge compared to Rhyley we took some photos so when I get them onto the computer I will post one in here, just goes to prove how much they grow in a few months and Brandon was littler born than Rhyley.

Hi ladies... just popping on quickly before Xavier's next feed... you know, I knew going from 2 kids to 3 would be harder than going from 1 to 2, but I didn't realise just how hard it could be! Even though everyone's been really supportive and helpful, I just feel slightly overwhelmed with what I need to get done in a day, while still feeding on demand!
Xavier was weighed last Thursday (2 weeks old), and he was 4.5kg (10lb) so he's put on just under 700g in two weeks! The main concern Nat and I have now is that somehow we want to use up the rest of the newborn sized nappies before Xavier outgrows them! We've got the second half of a box left (about 60 nappies) so we can't even take the unopened portion back
We're going to have Christmas morning here, then lunch at my Nana's (with Mum's side of the family) in Tokoroa, and dinner with Nathaniel's family in Tauranga. Boxing Day, we've been invited to another family christmas at my parent's place in Katikati (with Dad's side).

becca i had the same problem with newborn nappies i had a7 unopened packs of huggies and two treasures nappie packs. luckily with advise from some oh baby girls i got DH to take back to local supermarket and they exchanged for next size up. Doesn't help with you though since its an opened packet.
Rhyley been wakeful today, hes just gone to sleep now but been awake on andoff since 11am.
becca and if you don't have time to do stuff -just leave it - i know easy said than done but i have decided with Rhyley i am going to enjoy him so if i have a nap on couch instead of housework so be it - i am the first one who likes to get everything done but being realistic, i still stress now and then the house is a mess etc.... have i just contradicted myself there? lol

got weighed yesterday and is now 9lb 15oz meaning he's put on 11oz in a week.

Ohhh Ann! He's gorgeous! Darn it... Makes me want to have a blue one He's got beautiful skin. I love the photo of Rhyley with his cousin. Ashlee's nearly 5 mths and it's really hard to believe that she used to be as small as that!

I cannot believe how much Xavier has grown! He's put on 430g in the last week, so he's now 4.98kg (10lb 15oz). I must be a very good cow! 20 newborn nappies left... we'll be through those by the end of the weekend, then into the next size up. I thought we'd have at least half a week more before he got this big!
He's feeding well (obviously), sleeping not too bad, and we've got most of the burping problem sorted. The last couple of nights, though, I've been up with him for an hour or more from around 3:30am trying to get the wind out so he can settle enough to sleep in his bed instead of upright on me! Xavier is a little spilly, so I'm just keeping an eye on him to figure out if he has a touch of reflux (Josiah did) or if its as simple as he's eating too much. Midwife said it could be either.

hi all
hoz things going?
Rhyley is good. Had a reunion with antenatal group was cool to see everyone and their babies and to hear their birth stories. I was the only ceasar there so they were intriqued to find out.
Rhyley still sleeping well at night will go down around 10.30 - 11pm and wakes around 5am. hes feeding better and most times i will get him fed and back to sleep for another 3-4 hours. he is alot wakeful during the day and only has a long sleep in arvo, cat naps the rest of the time. not compliaining though as he is pretty cruisy baby.

had midwife today. Rhyley at 3 weeks is now 10lb 8oz. Alls well with me midwife impressed with how my tummy muscles are and healing. Told midwife about Rhyley still mucking about before latching on she is getting a la leche (or what eva they are called) lady to come and see me about it. May just sore itself out over time but be good to see if theres anything that can get it sorted quicker as I am scare to go out incase he needs a feed and then I have to sit there while he sorts himself out exposing myself every time he pulls away. I talked about expressing but midwife said its fine if I want to but won't save any time.
Where is all the november mummies? I know theres not alot of us but I say am I here on my own?

Hi Anne thought I come say hi since your feeling lonely here I pop in to see how your all going. Glad to hear Ryley is growing well and that your healing nicely. Hope the la leche lady will come up with some suggestions to help with Ryley latching on.
Me and James a good getting ready for the trip in the weekend I hope the plane doesn't hurt his ears to much m/w told me to just feed when we take off and land. James weighs 12lb 5oz now he just doesn't seem to stop growing and seems to have a growth spurt every week well thats what it feels like I think he's got a bit of reflux at the moment but not to bad the plunket nurse said they just get it every now and then.
Hope everyone else and the littlies are all good

So whos ready for christmas? I most definitaly am not! I think everyone will be getting gift vouchers this year.
Your trip to the UK and USA sounds really exciting Ann, when are you going? Hope the la leche lady came help with Ryley latching on.
Were are you off too this weekend Danni-Chick? Hopefully James will be good and sleep through, but feeding during take off and landing would be the way to go.
Here are some more pics.
Jaz loves her books, so reads them to her toys.
Jaz going to her first fancy dress disco.
Steph is doing well, had the last MW appointment on Monday, she hasn't put on much weight but has definitely had a growth spurt, shes now 59.5 cm long.
Unfortunately I have a depressed hubby as he has lost his job. He's taking it pretty hard because he really went all out to make it work. Not the best timing but we will get through it all. On the positive side it will be nice to have him around home for awhile.

The plunket nurse comes at 11:30 for our first visit with her, so I'll post about how Xavier's doing after that... we're going to be sneaky and weigh/measure Josiah as well, to see how much he's grown since 15mths.
Xavier is a bit of a sucker, so I've started giving him a dummy which keeps him happy until he's actually hungry... and means I'm not feeding him every 2 hours! He's not sleeping for very long at a stretch at the moment... usually somewhere between 20min and 1 hour during the day, and 2-4 hours at night (depending on whether he took one side or both before falling asleep at his last feed). I'm working on getting him into a routine, in the hopes that if he's feeding regularly, and having a good awake period afterwards, he'll sleep better and longer.
Here's my kids, snuggling in our bed:

YAY I AM NOT ALONE ANYMORE
Your kids are gorgeous and good to finally see a photo of xavier.
Gosh the plunket nurse come early to you. I have my midwife Mary till 6 weeks (dunno how it will work with christmas being in that time) its going to be sad when she stops coming as shes really cool and easy to talk to. We were laughing the other day about sex and birthcontrol - the last thing on my mind.
I don't even know what Rhyley's birth length is as they never measured him - being breeched his legs were bent for a while and so would not be acurate. so guess i won't know till we start at plunket.

I've been told that plunket comes monthly from roughly 4 weeks, while the midwife keeps visiting until 6 weeks. Vicki (plunket nurse) said they don't measure until 3 months, but we weighed both boys today. Xavier is now 5.18kg so he is up 1.16kg on his birth weight... I'm quite pleased of how well he's growing - and glad his weekly growth has slowed down a little! Josiah is now 9.32kg, which is good - it means he's put on just under 1kg in the last 4 months
BTW Ann, if you want to see some more photos of Xavier, there's a thread I started called "Sorry I've been so slack" thats probably a page or so back now...

Oh, I meant to say befoe that when Xavier was born the midwife said that they don't normally measure the birth length anymore (but she did for Xavier because she knew people would be asking me, as he was so surprisingly big )

oh boy am I ready to give up on the breast. I had the la leche person come yesterday and I am more confused now. Hes not getting latching on straight away and the way she showed me to do it I am so uncomfortable and still can't get him on. This morning I was almost in tears cause I really want it to work and I had no trouble with the other two. I have plenty of milk from just colecting from other boob (this is while hes feeding on the other) since yesterday afternoon I hv filled up an ice cube tray. I would like to try him with a bottle of expressed milk but scared he will get nipple confusion (as he has a dummy too)
Actually I might start another trend with this as I need help.

well BF is going good now and midwife came yesterday and he is now 11lb 2oz at 4weeks old. And I stand corrected as my midwife last visit was yesterday too she will be sadly missed although living in a small town I am sure to bump into her at the supermarket or something, not the same though. Said the plunket nurse will catch up with me in the new year.
Rhyley is still asleep from his night sleep (yes I have checked him to make sure alls well ) he went to bed at 10.30pm and woke at 6.20am fed and back to bed at 7.20am and now just waiting for him to wake up, I really should get in the shower or do some thing other than sitting on the computer but hey... and since the other kids have finished school now I have mini babysitters so I can have that shower.
so hoz everyone doing? You all sorted for christmas? I am heading to NP for last shopping - more kids getting pressie for each other and clothes shopping as Josh you can't just judge his size now (think 13 year old, 6 foot, good build) I see Pumpkin patch has a sale on their website so will visit the store and see if its there as well and farmers have 30% off childrens clothes today doesn't help for Josh as hes in mens but Brooke and Rhyley, I always like to get a new set of clothes for christmas day.
Rhyley won't be in his bassinette for much longer - its an old colonail one that I borrowed off my boss from work so not very wide and his hands are hitting the side alot - when he manages to get them out of the wrap hes not that keen on having his hands tied in - my cot still needs to be sanded (its one I used from the other two and years of being in the shed has made it needing a make over) so I have a porta cot with bassinette in it I shall put him in for a little while till we get onto the cot.
Okay hope to hear how things are going with the rest of you....

(An early) Merry Christmas, November Mummies and Babies!
We're off tomorrow morning, so I thought I should pop online now and tell you all to have a wonderful Christmas, and a great holiday for those of you who are going away this/next year.
Xavier is growing well - he was 5.48kg last Wednesday, so he's putting on an average of 300g a week! We were going to get a new capsule, but he's growing so fast that now we're not going to bother - we're just going to get a convertable rear/forwards facing carseat and continue to use our old capsule for now.

Happy new year everyone.
Stephanie had her 6 week check up and immunisations (plus the Meningococcal B) just before christmas. She was great, screamed her head off during the injections but as soon as she got some milk she was fine. We went in the morning, so she was very grumpy in the afternoon/early evening but back to normal during the evening. The hardest part was waiting at the doctors trying to keep Jaz and Steph entertained, we were there 1.5 hours all up.

my challenge is to get Rhyley to have a regular afternoon sleep... we will see though - I put him in his bassinette as he doesn't sleep for long in it during the day (or anywhere really)so yesterday I put him to bed at 4pm sat with him till 4.40pm and he woke at 5.30pm ... but........... he slept in there and I got some things done will try to keep it up and hopefully he'l get to the stage where he'l go to sleep by himself during the day (as he does it during the night) and have about an hour to hour an half would be nice.
Good that Steph was good after her injections, I think I will go on a friday so that if he is grumpy and unsettled at least I have the weekend where its not just me home (although kids are home at present)

James hasn't been weighed for a while as were doing monthly visits now but it will be interesting to see how big he is now because he has growen alot.
I hope all November mums and their families had a great christmas and new years and may 2007 bring you much joy.

well i spoke too soon rhyley has benn really upset and crying heaps hes asleep now - on me as he wouldn't settle anyohther way - he kepts crying and wimping now and then especially if hes moved. i have sent dh to get some pamol as when i asked the nurse about it she said most babies are fine at the 6 wk ones so shouldn't need any pamol - duh this one does. dh is soooo concerned as rhyley does cry hardly and so hes overly worried. poor baby its horrile as you can't do much for them - thats why hes getting extra cuddles.

It is cool having older children with baby - I told josh he'll make a good dad but that he will have to wait for at least 10 years... he laughed. I shall miss having them around when they go back to school - Josh is high school this year so all new (and expensive)

Hi everyone.
Your girls are gorgeous Kels, and its good to have another November mum.
Good to see your ticker up and running Ann, weird that the other one stopped, I must get round to doing one myself.
I can't wait for creche to start up again as Jaz really loves playing with all the the other kids and I enjoy the break aswell, only another month to go.
Stephanie is 2 months old today, I can't believe its been 2 months already, but at the same time I can't remember what life was like before. Shes doing really well, even sleeping well at night with me only getting up 1 or 2 times so I'm happy with that. Her next Plunket appointment is on Thursday so I'll see then how much weight shes put on.
I've got a breast infection, started on Friday night but is starting to get better now, but it has certainly made life a bit harder.
Also it will be Jaz's 2nd birthday next Monday, my baby is growing up!

very cute - love how they both under the play gym.
time goes so quick i am amazed how quick 7 weeks have gone so quick. now its the count down till we go to the uk - 3 1/2 months to go.
ouch about the breast infection. mine were sore this morning but i think it was from sleeping postion and probably sqaushing them.
Rhyley sleeping has been different since jabs, he still has his long sleep at night but then he use to go back to sleep for at least 3 hours but not now and hour if i am lucky, i can get him back to sleep but yes another hour only. i have put him in our bed to try get that extra sleep and although he sleeps its a very distrubed moaning/grunting sleep so don't think he gets much more sleep. hes dropping off now so hopefully he'l have at least an hour.

Sounds like Steph is the same as Rhyley in her sleeping pattern. She will sleep well until 2-3am, have a feed and then sleep on and off till 6am, sometimes I give in and bring her back to bed with me were she seems to sleep better. During the day she tends to cat nap, normally around 20 mins, 1 hour would be her limit too.
Your trip to the UK sounds awesome too!

Doesn't sound greedy to me Ann, hehehe. I do remember Jaz sleeping til 9am when she was a bubs, but now she gets up anywhere between 6-7am so the day starts and Steph doesn't get the chance to sleep in either.
Just got Jaz up from her morning nap and boy is she grumpy, its quite funny to watch actually. Her favourite word now is 'no', the battle of wills has begun.

Yay for Rhyley, what a good boy letting your mum have a good nights sleep.
Good luck with the diabetes test too.
Steph did her normal trick and slept til 2.45am, then on and off, so at 5.40am after another feed I brought her back to bed with me. The amazing part was that Jaz slept til 8am which is unheard off, but very much appreciated.

Maybe Rhyley needs to have a word with Alize about sleeping lol. He hasnt slept more than 3hrs since he was born. Alize wakes the same as your baby Debbie, he has the main sleep first half of the night, then 5.30am hes sort of up and down every hour. When my gals go back to school, I will be sleeping during the day with him

You poor thing Kels, I hope Alize starts sleeping longer than 3 hours really soon. Stephs first sleep is usually 4 hours, sometimes only 3 hours, and has even slept for 5 hours once! Its amazing how little sleep you get during a "good" night lol. Plus the fact that Jaz is waking up through the night aswell. One night I'll get a proper sleep.
Took this photo this morning, which I think accurately represents this household at the moment.
