For the last month or so Ethan has been pooing once every two or three days. They are a browny yellow and are runny (runnier than a newborn poo). Also he has been doing really smelly farts and I mean they are really bad.

So about 1/2 hour ago he pooed his pants. It was thick and runny this time and smelled really bad.

My question to you is: Should he be smelling this bad? Is it normal to have thick, runny and smelly poos?

Ethan is fully breastfed and he is nearly 3 months old.

lol I was just thinking, in years to come our children are going to be mortified to know we used to discuss thier bowel movements and other nice things on the internet for all to see!

But in reply to your question I think its pretty normal for babies to change consistancy like that. Im not 100% sure about fully b/f babies but it could be something that you have eaten coming through your milk.
As for smell, well Addisons smell most of the time!

when mikey was fully breastfed he'd sometimes go for days without pooing too, that's normal as long as he's not dehydrated and feeding well. as for the change in consistency, mikey did that too, i think he only had one or 2 really smelly ones though.
if you're worried then call healthline or take him to the doctor, but i don't think it sounds like much to worry about if he seems happy and is feeding normally.
hope it sorts itself out soon.

I'd say it's probably something you've eaten (if he is well otherwise!)

Yeah, probably something you ate... I know Alyssa does really smelly big shiney thicker poos the day after I eat a lot of cheese...

Normal poos can be runny or cottage cheesey and nothing to worry about unless definitely diahorreah for more than a few days.

Doesn't sound concerning to me unless there are other symptoms. I'd just expect it to come "right" in the next couple of days.
