well, I think it was go or be pushed. sorry if I offend anyone with this comment, but I never really liked him, he came across as very pompous and "moral high ground"...

me four! I wasn't impressed when he was mentioning something about student loans having interest (shudder), although do think he got a rough deal with the whole "affair" and his wife stuff - his business in my opinion.

I'm number 5. I was watching close up on channel 1 and he let slip that John Key is going to be the next leader.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Believe me..I'm as happy as the rest of you!! Don't trust him, never have, never will.

The whole Exclusive Bretheren thing just all sounded very dogey!! I'd be really interested to read that book that's coming out!

I hear John Key is the only one putting his hand up... I only just saw this newsflash tonight but I guess it's been coming for a while. Brash has taken a lot of crap but I do like the party as a whole.

As for the way he comes across, I know what you mean but just put it down to an MP thing - snide remarks etc etc from everyone! (Grow up!)

I quite often watch question time when its on sky news and they all act like a bunch of children sometimes (no most of the time). Coming from a very strong labour family (my great aunty is Sonja Davies - she dies last year and her book was called Bread and Roses), i'll always be a labour supporter. I am looking forward to that book and just want to buy it to read what actually went on - it sounds like he never played by the book. It will also be interesting to see if his marriage actually stays now.

If labour supports gay marriage and anti-smacking (I don't beat my kids but really, you need to teach them good behaviour somehow!) then I'm not so sure about their future prospects in my books.

I'm definately not a fan of Helen Clarke or many of labours current ideals, I much preferred Brash, but I'm much more taken by the party policies as a whole rather than the leader.

I like Don Brash and I'm sure John Key will be the next leader and I like him also....in fact I like National. As for Helen...she needs a holiday.

I must say that I have taken more interest in politics since we've had kids.

Im the same, I cant stand either Helen or Don, more so Don but like his party policies more, maybe now he is stepping down they might win next time.
I agree the whole affair thing was his own business but it still amazes me how high profile people do that sort of thing and think they will get away with it. I mean, they have camera and people following them all the time!

I didnt overly like him and think there are better people waiting in the wings to be honest...
As for our current govt - well I wish the truth would come out about Helen and her marriage - why are people so careful with her yet all the dirt gets dished on everyone else?
We had some great Nat govts way back...they def need a shake up and havent ever recovered from Jenny Shpley IMHO....lets see where to from here
having been a student too - noone rates for that in my book - I had interest on my loan, and it did not get wiped under Helens scheme - I had repaid it by then - interest and all - some incurred while i was studying so was pretty peeved it wasnt retrospective to be honest!
Roll on next election!
