i think i win the prize for the blondest moment today.
i was just making mikey's birthday cake (carrot) for his party tomorrow. i was feeling very domestic and proud of myself having got all the ingredients out ahead of time and setting them out in order etc.
i followed the recipe to the letter (or so i thought), put the cake in it's tin and popped it in the (preheated) oven.
ah, so organised!
i then went to clean the bench and there on the bench sat only the most important ingredient in a carrot cake, the carrots!! i'd completely forgotten to put them in!
there was much swearing and i quickly grabbed the cake out of the oven, grated the carrot, mixed it in and put it back in the oven.
does anyone know if it will still work? or have i completely screwed it up?
i don't really want to have to make another one

oh dear. lol.. how far into cooking was it? i hope it turns out ok.
lol, blonde moments.
Mik ehad one last night, usually at night he goes out before bed, puts the car int he shed, shuts the gates, covers the bunnies. Last night he had obviously put the car in the shed after going getting dinner. so he goes out, closes the gates, covers the bunnies and no car in the driveway! he freaks out. I go this alarm setter from his keyring and locked and unlocked the car.. and hear the beeping from the shed. lolol.. silly man forgot he'd put the car away.

I have never made one, but if you would normally put the carrots in last it should be fine I guess?

lol, we all know birthday cakes are for looking at and decorating anyway - going by how many people usually say no to actually eating the cake. lol. I'm sure it will taste fine. yay for it cooking well.

I think it will be fine. I made a cake for Jake's birthday and just before we put it in the oven, my nephew asked to lick the bowl. he did and pulled a face. then i realised the recipe had no sugar in it. my aunt had forgotten to write it down. so i just poured a cup or so in and mixed it up. tasted okay. But janine is right, hardly anyone even eats the cake most of the time. jake's first birthday cake was foul!
