My 6mth old bubba has recently started rolling in bed and waking himself up and unable to roll back over which involves me flipping him back over and having to feed him to get him back to sleep as hes sooooo awake and will not resettle.
I have heard about safety sleeps but I'm not sure i want to strap him down.............. Soooo do any of you ladies know how I can stop my bubba rolling over without actually strapping him in or any good suggestions. I tried taking out his cot book which he rolls over to grab but that didn't help he rolled over and grabbed the cot bars instead (clever these babies aye!!) 
Or do I have to buy a safety sleep!!?? 
Hes only very recently started sleeping 8-11 hours a night so it sucks that he is waking again due to his new found trick! Help!! |

I really do recommend a safety sleep or similar thing. I've just had to put Hans back on her bed to stop the standing up and now it is pinned to the mattress underneath and pin together at the top - and finally she can no longer stand! Yay!! I definitely recommend the safety sleep too, my little girl is such a houdini that I have to wrap her (arms in) and *then* put the safety sleep around her, sometimes she still manages to get her arms out... but the safety sleep stops her from moving around the cot or rolling over. ------------- Jacquie - Mama to Erin, 13.07.06 - Chief Cat Chaser & Marmite Sammie Eater

We had our monster is a sleeping bag type thing that stopped him rolling. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

There is a type of sleeping bag that has a bottom sheet sewed into it, I'll have to find the name brand but I believe that it was on show the the Parent and Child Show (anyone that went remember the name?). There is a way that you can wrap them with the sheets as well, I'll see if I can find some info on that too!
I just put my safety sleep on the bed due to Olivia rolling as well Emma. It sounds funny "I velcro my kid into bed" but it is peace of mind! Olivia got used to it very quickly ------------- DD1 May 2006 DD2 March 2011 DD3 August 2012 |

The one I use which I was so graciously lent by Nikki is travelling with us at the moment, fits cots, portacots, and single beds. You can get them off the Safety Sleep website (www.safetsleep.com - I think!), Trade Me, or places like Baby Factory, Baby City etc.

Maybe tilting the cot a bit might help? Prop the head legs up to 30deg as if he were a reflux baby. It might offset his rolling.
I haven't used safety sleeps either but if it is waking him and continues, I would be inclined to go that road. (My only problem with STS is that you have to "wean" them off it one day when they're old enough to get into mischief with their new-found freedom  )-------------  |

We swore by the Safety Sleep with Maya and still do with the twins, but I know Gsmum bought one of the fancy sleeping bags that attaches to the mattress at the P and C show and she's pretty impressed. ------------- Maya Grace (28/02/03)

Hehehe, Joshua has just started doing that too!! Soooo frustrating - but we got given a safety sleep and now we have good sleeps in our house again

MAdison was doing the same thing last week and for 2 nights about 4 times i had to roll her back to her back so that was the end of that and a great person suggested i buy a safety sleep and now my good girl is sleeping though the night again thank goodness not used to sleep depravation as madison has been sleeping throw since 4 weeks http://lilypie.com">

| I wrapped taine which stopped him from rolling. I can't remember Jake rolling too much and getting annoyed but both of my bubbas were tummy sleepers and slept much better on theri stomachs - unfortunately when they did this, i DID NOT sleep as well! |
