I've been getting thick watery eyes for the last day or two and I'm not a hayfever person. So is it viral? conjunctivitus? pregnancy-related? I'm otherwise feeling well and have just got over a 2-week cold. Anyone know?

Possibly pregnancy-related... I don't generally get allergies but I had to go and get some (pregnancy-safe) nose spray to deal with hayfever-like symptoms. It was horrible!

Hey Nikki thanks for that. Midwife took one look at me today (it was an appointment day anyway) and said it was conjunctivitus and definitely nothing to do with baby. Down to the chemist (yet again )... and would you know how difficult it is to get eye drops for a pregnant woman?! I wouldn't have thought eye drops would affect anything but their usual eye drops are to be avoided by anyone close to term, lest it cause jaundice etc. And their less-common, but safe, eye drops had ran out and they needed to get more in! Ah well it will be nice to be able to see out of my eyes without dabbing every few minutes.

Okay next question. Is it common to get headaches with conjunctivitis? I can't tell if it is that, or something in (or out of) my diet

I don't know Becks, I've been so very tired today and I don't know if it is a growth spurt, needing more nutrition, or just my immune system Fortunately its not listed as a side effect of the eye drops I'm taking. Confusing though!

Please excuse my misdiagnosis. Shoddy med degree from the back of a weetbix box.
I'm about to make another medical observation: I don't think headaches and conjunctivitis go together.
But then I was wrong last time! So perhaps just mention it to midwife

Yep I don't think there is a connection with headaches and conjunctivitis either,

Headache has cleared after a good lie-down so it must have just been tiredness. Here's hoping for a much better day tomorrow.
