So theres been a bit of talk on here lately about people changing jobs, looking at businesses etc and its something I have been thinking about doing for ages. I really dont enjoy my job even though I've only been qualified for 3 years (and had one year off!). I thought after having a break I would enjoy it again but unfortunately no I want to do something that I really enjoy and look forward to doing - is that realistic?
Anyway I have been thinking heaps about what I could do. BAsically I want to be doing something for myself that I can do mainly from home. Doesnt need to be a huge money earner as my income is just for extras and to make life a little easier.
I have a few ideas, one idea we are looking at is to do with cars and being a NZ distributor which would only involve me ordering bits and packaging up. This one is kind of in the process of happening. Not exactly smething to get passionate about, but its extra money for doing not much work once its up and runing.
Now my other ideas that I am excited about and would like some feedback on... I was originally thinking about making wedding invitations etc as I have done several of my friends and really enjoyed it and they turned out great. Also along the wedding theme, thought about setting up some kind of service where I have already done all the research and some idea of $$ for all the venues, caterers etc in the area so the couples dont have to spend a lot of time researching everything. And have all sorts of ideas and stuff put together with contact details and lists of all the things that need to be done/ordered, forms etc... Its kind of limited here in Dannevirke, tho could be Tararua which is a bit bigger.
Really I am thinking out loud but would like some advice/feedback/other ideas...
TIA

tell me about it grumble grumble. maybe its a sign that i should go to bed but hubby is working late and our house makes scary noises in the dark....home alone....boogey men outside.... better stay on here where its safe.
Anyway Aimee all I was basically saying is that I love the wedding idea, thats what i want to do but Im going to eventually have a shop, well thats my 10 year plan anyway.

Oh and if you send a PM and the inbox is full why does it not send the email to your outbox, how come it totally deletes it? thats just silly.

It is a bit frustrating because the message appears similar to the one that says "This message has been sent" so I always ignore it... only to find out later on that it didn't actually. (Argh. Whinge.)

Yeah thats what happened, I only just realised it said has NOT been sent as i was about to close the screen.... I would have been thinking man that Aimee is a snob for not replying to my PM when she never got it in the first place!

Sorry, empty now! I guess my idea is more along the lines of helping at the initial planning stage cos I remember I had NO idea of where to start or what was available. When you are working full time it takes a lot of time to ring everywhere and get quotes etc, so I would like to have that stuff already and people can narrow their choices down from there. I don't think I'd be too keen on organising the whole thing - plus I think a lot of people actually enjoy that side of it and are control freaks that dont want to let it go! Also could make their invitations for them - nice ones but cheaper than buying from somewhere online...
