Hey can someone please direct me to "the nappy expert", I saw on one of the threads about nappies and also a signature of the nappy expert but have had no luck finding it anywhere. Would like some input about which ones seem better, would like to get some while Chch City Council are offering a rebate. Thanks

There a quite a few cloth nappie mums on here who can help you out. Aimeejoy is a Fuzzi Rep and Nikkiwhyte also has a great knowledge.

I'm a cloth mum also and I'm happy to help out too.

The other option is check out http://www.thenappynetwork.org.nz - The Nappy Network which has more advice than you can poke a stick at! It's specifically a cloth nappy website with an excellent forum and tons of girls to answer all your questions!

he he i think the signature with nappy expert on it was someone having fun, not a real title. but yeah i second the nappy network for their review section, very handy if you know what sort of nappy you prefer. also there are a couple of cloth nappy posts on here with some good info too.
maybe if you know what companies are participating in the cloth subsidy scheme you could check them out too and see what they are offering. actually there is a link to that info too on the nappy network.

good luck

ok - i've just done a bit of looking for you and out of the retailers doing the scheme i would prob go for either:

bumbles
ecobots
joel eze
and maybe natural parenting.

ecobots is a prefold system, joel eze are pockets (affordable tho and made by a local WAHM), bumbles do several diff types but the CCC packs are two diff types of fitteds and natural parenting do a one size fitted.

this is just my opinion tho and i picked these cause then if you liked the nappy it wouldnt cost a fortune to get more of the same or because they were best value for money ...

yeah i had thought they were just having fun but I had to start somewhere... yep have been going thru the participating companys, fuzi bunz, mum & bubs, Bohny Babies, Bumbles, Cottontails, Ecobots, Joel-Eze, Real Nappies, Nap-Naps ..... so you can imagine everything buzzing around in my head as well as the girls running around the house because they havn't been able to get outside today. so feedback is also good

Kerryn - if you'd like I can bring down all the stock I have when I come down and can show ya all the different options and how they work. (Well... not ALL the different options, but the ones I have!)

Then you'll have a bit more of an idea about which system offers which benefits!

I've just found an absolute cloth mad mum who lives around the corner... she buys a new nappy pretty much every day! So she's a great source of reviews

She says that cloth being cheaper is a lie... once you factor in the addictive nature of cloth and the ease of buying online... it is all out the window!

Very true Nikki! There are lots of nappies I want to try but really I have no need cos I have enough for an army of children now, so am being very restrained!

I might start selling some of my older ones on TM so I can buy new ones... and my child seems to be toilet training herself! ARGH!

P.S. That wasn't a serious reference to me having more children. My friend just keeps giving me sh*t about Andy wanting children.

Addictive?? Cloth nappies??? What...just because I've bought a total of 17 this week! (to be fair a bulk lot of them are from an extememly good TM purchase of fuzzis and liners and boosters and inserts and tote bag etc...full supply of the next size I need plus a couple extra of the size after that.)

The rest were just 'cos they were gorgeous!!

hmmmm maybe i should just stick to disposables then knowing how much i love to shop for my kidlets

na, after spending $40 on nappies this week for the 2 of them i'm definately getting onto the cloth thing, especially now CCC is doing the subsidy thing
mind you, i've been saying that since i found out i was preggers with charli! there's just so much to think about, it makes me giddy

I'm telling you, once you make that first step and get into cloth you do not look back!! I can't imagaine why we ever thought disposables were easier now...to me cloth are every bit as easy. Ok yeah there is the washing but even that is easy as to do (no scrubbing these days!! ).

I'm such an addict. Think I'd better just become a rep and get it over and done with!!

Vanessa - if you go into Mum & Bubs, Amy will be more than happy to help you! Before I became re-addicted to the Nappy Network forum, I would just email her and say "Help!" and she'd send back really helpful recommendations (complete with detailed explanations!)

Yes I did hear who that was but hadn't heard anything offically...wonder when she's going to make an announcement.

And I am seriously thinking about it. I've developed such a passion for cloth nappies and perhaps it means I could stay at home instead of going back to work.

I'd love to hear your take on it sometime and how you find it...work wise, what you do, if you enjoy it....etc etc etc

I'm open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am - 4pm, I've got shortish blonde WILD hair, so you can see if it's me or another staff member.

I so wish we had a shop like yours in Auckland!

I still need to put an order in through you though I might drop a hint to the inlaws, they were wondering what to buy Maddie for Xmas as she won't know what's going on...those cool retro Happy Heiny's I want could be just the thing!
