everyday and now pregnancy is no different. Last night between 8 and 10pm I was having these pains in my tummy coming every 15 minutes or so. Didn't think much of it other than I want to go to sleep I start work at 5.45am tomorrow you monster. Then I got them again at 4am and same thing lasting 2 hours and coming every 15 minutes. Mostly bearable some not so bearable. Got to work and again at 8am the same thing happened and lasted through till 10am during that time I had some panadol. Thinking they had gone they came back again at 12pm. This time I get really annoyed with them. Finished work and came home to see if they would settle down with a rest. Nope. My friend rang and we were talking about them and she said you sound like you could be in the beginning stages of labour. I laughed at her and she said ring your MW just to make sure. Well after talking with her I found out (this is what i learnt today) that I am having Braxton Hicks (I did think about them, but thought they were really random and came randomly) and I also found out that they come in waves and thats what i'm getting. My MW has instructed me to keep an eye on them and to time them jsut incase its not labour starting (oh I hope not), and to have a hot bath and put a hottie or heat pack on my tummy to help. I'm heading to the pool soon to use the spa (its free for me) and i'm taking a few bottles of water with me as it could get a little warm in there. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

OMG!!! I've been having them for ages, but the most I have ever had was about 3, ten mins apart, lasting about 30 seconds. I thought they were totally random as well! OMG! ------------- The Honest Un PC Parent of 2, usually stuck in the naughty corner! :P |

I always found a hot shower or hot water of some description (not too hot of course) always stopped them for me. But also came in waves and often got quite regular. They are not fun! ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I find BH quite exciting. With this one and #1 I got them pretty consistently from 20 weeks  Gets a bit uncomfy depending on your position from this stage... e.g. if you're lying on your side and they pick up. But that's all they ever amount to. Oh, if you've been particularly busy lately you'll get them even harder  -------------  |

Becks I had another thought: is your baby turning or settling in your pelvis as you are having BH? That's really tough, just go with it like labour, let heaps of room in there for bub and it should settle once s/he's comfy! ------------- |
