BIG no to the Weetbix & porridge, they have way to much fibre in it, not good for there tums.
Bout 12 months I think they can eat that.

If there is a family history in food allergies they (Plunket, Bounty etc..) suggest that you wait till baby is a year old before introducing dairy, wheat, soy, shellfish and nuts. If there is no family history then small amounts at around the 8-9 month mark. There is some great food advice in the food pull out in the "Thriving Under Five" booklet, if you didnt get one the PDF is http://www.plunket.org.nz/Content/NavigationMenu/ParentInfo/ThrivingUnderfive/1-Introduction_TU5_2006.pdf - here

I would probably start weetbix about now, provided there is no family allergies. Crush up about half of one in a bowl and mix hot water into it. Gosh I can smell it already That avoids giving her milk too early.
I found it easier at that age to give 'fingers' of toast because my girls always wanted to feed themselves. It's a lot cleaner!
Did you want to know about dinner things as well? Or just breakfast?

with the mince, i alwats have to give it to Taine in something mashed. tried just by itself and it was rejected...across the room (thrown, not thrown up)
as for weetbix - we've been feeding him that, and porridge for several months now - oops! b no adverse reactions, but i have heard that excess fibre fills them up to quickly and they don't get all the calories they need. My boys are great eaters though so pretty sure he isn't suffering from a loss of appetite
Taine and Jake both love those rice cakes as well, but I kinda dust them off a lot as they have a ton of salt on them it seems.
the boys both eat lots of fruit - they love prunes and dates. Keep in mind Taine has about 7 teeth at present too. he LOVES mango slices- they are mushy and nice to eat independantly.

Kazzle it sounds like you're doing fine!
Have you tried chopping up chicken really finely and adding to veges?

when mikey was that age, his favourite food was chicken pureed up with pumpkin or kumara, at that age he was still having heaps of trouble with lumps so everything i gave him had to be pureed.
about the salt thing, babies don't need salt added to their food, it's actually bad for them.
