Okay I was getting BH last night for about an hour after I woke up around 3am . But these ones were giving me a bit of grief in the lower back area and I don't usually get any pain with BH. Are BH that cause a bit of discomfort in the back area actually early contractions? Or maybe it was just cause I was lying down and they were strong BH?
I wasn't expecting this bub to come before Jan 13th as my other two have been full-term. So it was a bit of a shock lying in bed last night wondering if we're all ready lol

I didnt get any BH in my lower back, that was where i got all my pain during labour and it started a couple of days before hand, just really like period type pain and turned out i was dilating the whole time. Same with Addison, all my pain right up till the pushing was in my lower back.

My painful braxton hicks turned out to be labour as well. Started as dull, regular backache and crampy pains in my tum in the early morning and Benjy arrived later that night! He was only a week early, but it was still a bit of a shock as Ella was full term too.
Good luck if this is it!

Yip me too! As soon as I mentioned lower back pain to my midwife she told me to go to the hospital. BTW I didn't have any pain with my contactions in my tummy until the day I had Ashleigh (4 days after my labour started) Maybe you should give your midwife a bell just in case???

Well yes I've done my shopping but what about all the parties yet? Not to mention we already have birthdays on 23rd and 27th
I've been having BH since 20wks but obviously a bit firmer lately. No more back ones today, I guess it might have just been Baby's position last night. But after all your little testimonials I think I might call my mw if there's a next time.
My #2 active labour stage was about 3 hours long, mw is expecting I'll be faster this time. And the early stages will be faster too because I have an anterior not posterior baby So if things start heating up I guess I should call her asap lol

Well I had a couple more niggles yesterday morning but by the time I started paying attention to them (are these baby-related or constipation/wind? lol) they settled down. So still haven't called the mw...
But I have figured out that if I have a busy day these things seem to follow the next morning. So I guess I need to watch my busy-ness. On Wednesday I was nesting big-time and even though I paced myself, that's when I got those BH at night-time. And Friday was a big day so yesterday morning got niggles.... hmmm good to have a bit of a handle on it now but still a little bit freaky.

No, I have an appointment with the specialist on the 10th Jan to see if they found a reason! and to discus future pregnancy's!

Well I just had a little chat to my mw as I'm still getting firm (but not sore) BH in batches of 1/2 to an hour or so, lying down til they settle down etc. Basically she's not concerned because I'm 36 weeks, so it's just a matter of calling her if/when things change...

I had contractions fairly regularly from 33 weeks with the twins. They were painfulish, but not unbearable and would last for up to three hours at a time but never got regular or longer. By the time I was induced I was 4cm dilated and the m/w said the contractions I had been having were probably a combination of it being my second (term) pregnancy and the extra weight of the fat gremlins.

Hate to say this Teresa, but the day before my show (you know the one that meant I could still have 5 weeks to go), I had had several episodes of BH and pains in my lower back, I realise now they were nothing as intense as the real thing, but definitely the same pain.
Go on be a December Mum again, I dare you. Besides it's trendy at the moment to be a few weeks early

Haha Claire you always make me laugh! I'm not sure what's gonna happen, I've had no more niggles since Saturday morning but I've been exhausted so not doing much! We'll have to see if the busyness of next week gets things going One thing is for sure, this baby is LOW and anterior so once I get started it'll all be happening
Which reminds me, I must get Andie's txt number so you can all know when I've had baby!
