Cold ham, hot chicken, stuffing, salad, prawns, pav with cream and strawberries, xmas pud and custard... all at my place this year for a first - makes it easier on us with Erin, so I can put her down in familiar surroundings when she's tired / it's time to sleep. Oh, and it will be just me and DH, my Mum and her partner, and another couple of family friends (husband and wife).

Wow that sounds great Liz,..and VERY busy!

We are off to my parents house in Auck for 2 weeks on Sun. We will be going to one of my Mum's family things on Christmas Eve, which will be a big casual get-together for as many of mum's family that can make it ( she has 8 older siblings).
On Christmas day there will be a big sit down meal with Dad's side of the family at lunch time, at my uncle and aunty's place. Then we have a casual bbq at mum and dads at night, and catch up with a few friends.
Only my parents, Nana and my bro and my best friend have met Isla so they are all looking forward to meeting her!

Then we will be home a day, then off to stay with DH's family in Gisborne for New Year!

We're off to Wanganui on the 23rd or 24th. Will spend Xmas lunch with Andrew's parents (and bro, SIL & nephew) and then dinner with my parents and brother.

Usually hot ham on the menu at his place, and turkey at mine, plus lots of yummy veges (hot & cold) and nice desserts.

Looking forward to seeing Amelia's face with all the pressies

Were going up to Warkworth for 10 days to spend it with my side of the family this year its my turn to spend it with my family. Me and James a flying up on Sunday and my partner is coming up next saturday when he finishes work.

Mums got 21 people coming all family only mum and dad have met James so the rest of the family is really excited. It will be a mixture of traditional and BBQ food don't really know what food were going to have but I'm looking forward to it 'cos I haven't seen the rest of my family for over a year.

I hope it doesn't unsettle him to much 'cos when we get back to Christchurch were moving a couple of weeks later too.

I am working this xmas eve, which sucks because both girls are kinda old enough now - especially Paris so i will miss out on the "ooh sant'a coming tonight" kinda thing.. although that means i will also miss the tantys mike will inevitably throw whilst putting together the slide, swing and PAris's bike!! lol (so kinda cancels out really)

Planning to stick at home for the morning and just hang together, thought we might ask mike's parents if they wanted to come but they don't really commit to anything (they don't plan to do things... according to mike..ok whatever) I thought maybe of going somehwere for lunch but most places don't finish lunch sittings til afternoonish unless you go early... that and i put it on mike to do and as yet he still hasn't rung to find out, lolol, everywhere will be booked!

Then just when the kids have hit the grumpy/overstimulated time of the day.. i get to go off to work and leave mike to deal with them. Sucks, just thinking about it. But boxing day we are all going round to mums instead and having a xmas potluck dinner there, which will be nice.

We usually do year about with my sister, but this year was our turn to go up and i can't with work.. which is even more sucky cos i know this year will be hard for her cos she's just left her hsuband and will be on her own for half the day while the kids are at his place.

We are going to my parents and having lunch there with my nana. Even thou it is meant to be at DH's parents we don't want to be there with his brother there so we chose to be with my parents as mum made her mind up with what she was doing well before the MIL did. We have talked about having breakfast at our place with DH's family, I have left that up to him to arrange. Other than that I intend on doing next to nothing being as I feel as big as a house.

This year, I am having xmas dinner here, my mum, dad (if he is well enough to come out of the hospice for the day)a family friend, Rod, me, stepson and Jacob. Can't wait! We don't have a tree up yet, as I think I may have killed Jake by now after being driven nuts by the incessant decoration pulling off. i will put it up this weekend. We got jacob a Lightening mcQueen ride on bike thing, a keyboard, a wheelbarrow with some garden tools, and santa is bringing soem Pj's and a writing thingy. I think his big bro is gettign him a paddling pool, and gran and pop are getting a play tunnel tent for him. We will be eating a Stuffed and seasoned roast pork, cooked on our BBQ spit, Baked ham (mmmmmmmm)roast chicken, new spuds and peas from the garden and baby carrots and a salad. For dessert, pav, brandy snaps, choc mousse, trifle (mmmmmmmmmmmmmm) Fresh marlborough raspberries, strawberries and cherries and maybe soem choccies. Ok, so alot of food for such a small group, but that will do tea and lunch boxing day as well.

mmmmmmm I'm hungry!

We still haven't hosted Christmas yet - good on you guys who are doing that! Christmas morning will be just on our own - probably the best part of Christmas lol. So the kids will get a chance to open and play with the things we've got them (bangles, duplo, pull-along shape sorter). Then we'll be off to DH's parents for lunchtime and the afternoon. Sounds like lunch will be BBQ so that MIL can have the day off cooking, at least in part

Then New Year's Day we've committed to going to my parents for Christmas III which will be more traditional type main meal lunch but not too expensive (they are beneficiaries with 7 kids at home), so probably roast chicken and all the veges. Again the afternoon there opening presents etc.

Then after all that we'll probably celebrate New Year as family on the 2nd (the next day) with party poppers, nice dinner and sparkling grape juice for all us 4.

Then DH and I are off on Holiday (beach bach in Whiritoa) on the 22nd till around the 15th. Can't wait!!

We are having Christmas here! (Am I mad??!!)

But I was adamant that if everyone wanted to see Charlotte, we would have to have it at our house, I am not shipping her all over the show for her first Christmas. We have the grandparents and great grandparents coming. Oh, and we are privledged to be sharing it with Jezsika, Cory and Ella too. Cant wait cant wait!!!!

Rather than doing the big roast thing, we decided to have a BBQ and everyone is bringing something. We will still have the traditional puddings tho! It just ain't Christmas without Pav or Trifle!!! YUUUUMMM!

My Dad, his girlfriend, my sister, my brother, Hannah and I are all travelling down to Ashburton in Dad's ridiculous house bus type thing.

And if the bus bit isn't bad enough, we are going to stay with my truly senile grandmother who gets reeeeally riled up by Dad (as in within 30 seconds of him arriving at her house) so this christmas is going to be GREAT!

Nah... it might be cool. If all else fails I'll take the bus and run.

the secret santa thing for the adults is such a good idea. we are doing that as well. It means that we can buy someone a nice present,. rather than buying everyone something from the $2 shop!

I found this awesome paua photo frame for my SIL (I'm her secret santa). i'm just hoping everyone else remembered to get their present. It's pretty stinmk on xmas morning when someone has been forgotten...may have to make some little hints.

We're having breakfast here Christmas Morning, then lunch with my Mum's family at my Nana's place in Tokoroa, and dinner with Nathaniel's family at his brother's place in Tauranga. We're going to stay with Nat's parents Christmas Night, then its off to Katikati Boxing Day for the King Family Christmas at my parents place with Dad's side of the family.

Only my Mum and MIL have seen Xavier, so everyone is looking forward to meeting him - especially my 67yo Nana, who is thrilled to have another great-grandson!

My rellies descend on me today. I'm feeling my back arch already. Love everyone really, but my BIL is the "expert" on EVERYTHING, and I'm waiting for the comment about how we raise the boys. See, I'm getting defensive now and he hasn't even said anything!!! Good thing is they can't come round for the next few days cause Taine has the tummy bug and we don't want his daughter (3 months old) getting it - would NEVER hear the end of it if we did - and I can imagine emergency trips to the hospital (first time parents) - and not to diss first timeers, but he is a slo extremely overprotectve and always knows best.....love him really.

Ooo good luck with that one Liz. haha (Sorry... shouldn't laugh really.)

And yeah, OhBaby will definitely be getting a run down of my lovely christmas experience. We'll see if I manage to get a story to top my much told Boxing Day Races explosion story. Given that we are in the midst of toilet training, it may even have a common theme. Joy.

Only just found this one...

Anyway, in the morning me and Daniel are going to have a yummo cooked breakfast and do the present thing. Then off to Dans aunties for his family lunch. My mum and dad are coming here for tea, if my mum has her way we will be having ham sammies for dinner!

We have got Hannah a swing set, the zoo dvd, a few books, a jewellery box and a few cheapo things for her santa sack.

Hopefully we will just chill out for the weekend and crossing my fingers here that the weather will improve (and the snow will melt off the ranges and it wont be so damn freezing!).

Our christmas morning ususally starts off with eating brakfast and talking on MSN to family and firends in UK and opening their presents and watching them do the same, nice for them as they open things on Christmas Eve, then we head to Scorching bay for our traditional dip in the sea, I might not do that this year, i think i have a plausable excuse. then back to the house for nibbly bits with firends and then eventaully we have a BBQ and sit round and blob for a couple of hours. We usually end up talking to the same people in the UK again in the evening to wish them Happy Christmas again.
then to bed to do it all again on Boxing Day, May be not the swim bit. Mum and dad are here this year so it will be a little different, Mum can't get her head round not having turkey or Christmas pud, but then I was the same when we first arrived, but even in Wellington it's too hot (yep in Wellington) for that sort of thing

We'll wander off to my family in the morning (after having waffles at home for brekkie if I'm lucky and Jono gets up and makes them ), then hubby's family in the avo, for the big Christmas feed.  Ella will get to meet all the rellies from the South, from that side of the family, so that's cool, and her aunt who couldn't make it all the way from Wellington to Palmy to meet her before then!    We're off to a fancy-pants BBQ dinner at friend's house after that, which will be great fun.  Fair bit of shifting about on the day but I'm glad we're not hosting it!!  One of these Christmases I'll finally put my foot down about all the running about between both families, but not this year.

I have put my foot down this year. DH told his parents if they want to see us (really to see Andrew) they are to come to us. We are going out to my parents place (only out to Aokautere) as their is going to be extended family there, DH's place is just his brother and sister and I can't stand his brother.
