I have a friend who is due any day now and is having pains,i cant remember which way round it is, if you lie down and it goes away does that mean its just braxton hicks or is it if you move around and the pain stops then its braxton hicks?

If you can do anything to make it go away, it's BH - be it lying down or moving around. However, I think it's more likely that if movement stops or helps, that it *might* be a contraction.

You can have contractions that come and go, often in the case of bubby not being in quite the right place e.g. posterior. It's called early labour and in my labour of Briona I had it on and off for 30 hours

The test is, are the "contractions" getting longer and closer together. If so, call the mw right away!

I remember my midwife saying if you think something might be happening move around to move things along
