ok, so the stress starts now.

Mike went to the warehouse nearly 2 hours ago, to pick up our last 2 laybys.. one with the swing in it, and the other with a slide and a couple of other little things in it. ggrrr, anyway, have had to ring him 3 times (he textd saying "call me")

firstly they could not find our laybys,
Next now they HAVE found our laybys, the boxes for the swings and slide are open.. (we made them open them when we put them on layby to check that all screws pieces etc were accounted for, and the resealed them again) but they have lost the package that had the other bits in it, so mike was ringing to find out exactly what WAS in it.

Next phone call, he had gone and gotten the other things off the shelves but could not find one of the things that i had really wanted (bought early in fact because i didn't want to miss out.)

Now, just as i was writing the post here, had to ring again.. finally they have found them, not sure if they are the same colours but oh well... finally he is on his way home.. glad i decided not to take the kids out of bed in anticipation to go see the xmas lights cos he isn't even home yet.

Stupid stupid shop people and laybys, ARGH! I knew we should have just bought them outright but have had no-where to store them (the slide etc) so left it till now. all the bits better be there to put the slide and swings together or they will be getting a visit from a very annoyed crazy lady.

So, just a bit of a vent... add yours if you like.

not going crazy... really i'm not

My vent for today has to be TRAFFIC - urgh. I didn't think it out too well and went and booked Erin's 5mo. jabs at 11:30am, takes me 20 mins to get to the Dr's office and we made it just in time. Now I did ring ahead to see if the nurse doing the jabs was running on time or not, and they said everything was fine - but 10 mins late by the time I got there, double urgh. Reason being is you have to wait 20 mins after you get the jabs... and here's the kicker - I still had my regular counselling appt. to get to at 1pm !! So I was out the door as fast as I could, and then hit absolute chaos trying to get back on the motorway so I could take Erin home and put her to bed (my mum comes to babysit so I can have my appts)... got back at 12:50, and so then had to turn right around and go back out again, so was 15 mins late for my appt *sigh*

I am going to try and get out as early as possible tomorrow morning to get things done - have a couple of parcels yet to post (sorry Emma!), chocolates supplies to buy (making for xmas day), as well as hopefully digging up an appropriate nappy bucket at Plastic Box in Albany.

Erk. End ramble. Sorry !

HEHEHEHEHE I was going to get in as early as possible today (thursday) to get the last of our shopping and food shop done before the weekend ...... thank god checked the bank balance before making the trip (1/2hr) to hornby ..... dh pay hasnt gone in, from Monday!!!! Ring the boss to find out what's going on, tell her pay isn't in, she tells me it will be in tomorrow so we will have it before xmas. I say thats nice but I'm actually talking about last Mondays pay, dead silence on the other end of the phone, says she will ring the bank to see whats going on. Calls back, it hasnt left their account yet, some mix up but it will be in tomorrow unless she takes a cash cheque down & puts it in straight away, I had lost momentum by then so it better be in there today!! Don't want to be anywhere near shops over the weekend!!

I HATE stupid clients who leave everything to the last minute, and I am sorry to any on here, but lawyers! Yes you may need confirmation of insurance, but so does every other blimin lawyer so you will get it when it is done, not before.

We have been really quiet for the last 2 weeks and yesterday and looks like today we are getting hammered.

Janine - make an offical complaint about that. might get something free! I complain all the time.

My in laws have been driving me absolutely crazy....rearrangin things, comments, getting the kids up when they are crying (about 5 mins after being put to bed) and...last night's spectacular announcement. "mrs. X is coming for xmas". where is she staying I ask, with you of course! woohoo. Whgere on earth her and her two girls are supposed to sleep I have no idea. I said to Lewis no to anywhere near the boys, or our room. So, the lounge is it.....so when we get up at 5am....what a mess. ANyway told Lewis last night, and he said "i shall talk to mother". Haven't even been able to vent as the family are ALWAYS here. Always......geez i could write a novel but will sip my "relaxing tea" and breathe deeply "two more weeks, two more weeks", and worry about next years wedding (SILs) instead

I know I keep saying it but thank goodness for online shopping!! I popped into the supermarket to pick up one thing the other day and that was bad enough. It was a relief not to have to set foot inside the supermarket for our big shop!! (and we got some excellent substitutions this fornight!)

My only rant is that I hate malls but thankfully I don't need to go near one for ages!

Sarah Beth I've been on the other side, it's very stressful in that line of work huh?

If you have to go shopping this weekend (thank goodness I did mine on Wednesday) go as early as you can in the morning. Even if you have to get up earlier to do it, its far better being at (for example) Pak n Save at 8am than at 11am with everyone else and their screaming kids - ugh.

busymum - it isn't so much the stress, it is the abuse! Some lawyers are just rude, and I will admit that when they are, I make sure they only get the certificate at say 3.55 for a 4pm settlement. Naughty I know, but my boss has been known to do the same thing. Really funny thing is, we could make them wait 48 hours if we really wanted, as that is our agreed service standard.

I agree with going to supermarket really early to get the shopping done. I am just trying to work out when mine is open!

We went to Sylvia Park after my mw appointment yesterday - about 10.30. Heaps of parking and not too many people about, so I reckon if you get to the malls before 11, and even better before 10, you will be better off. We had no problems with queues or anything at that time.

Hugs to everyone who has to d o all the running around and organising for Christmas!!!!

SB - fair enough, they should have known by at least Wednesday that they were settling on the Friday!! It's a pain though cause the next wait is the Bank and they'll be really behind schedule too Funny that you're dealing with lawyers themselves though (and yea they can be really rude), in Palmy its commonly legal execs who do those jobs (that's where i come in )

I tried making chocolates in my new tupperware icetrays (like they do at the demonstrations) and they all broke when I took them out.. then I tried to make little mallowpuff Christmas puddings (look really cool when they are finished) but the white chocolate wouldn't melt and then it curdled and I had to throw it away THIS SUCKS!!

Where do I start. The care had to have its warrent, due yesterday but did it on Monday to get it out of the way. It needed $300 worth of work done to it. Fine, It had to be done so that was ok.

DH's glasses brake - he needed new ones anyway but $500 later he has new glasses.

Last night he is in so much pain with his mouth that I get Andrew up out of bed to drive him to the hospital for pain relief. Easier said than done. The triage nurse hates me so kept DH in pain for 3 hours as she put him as the lowest triage rating (i'm very tempted to complain about her and she should not be an ED nurse). After waiting an hour and half DH told me to go home so Andrew can have a sleep. He waited a bit longer and then got to see someone who told him there was nothing wrong, drugged him, told him to go to a dentist tomorrow and I had to pick him up at 3am with a script for pain killers. He slept in Andrew's bed and Andrew slept with me - never again hes a bed hogger. I rang so many dentists today to get him in to get the tooth pulled. Finally after ringing the probably 10th dentist I got him an appointment. The dentist try's to tell him he can save his tooth (at a cost of about $1000), but DH said pull it. Turns out there is a huge whole and infection under the filling that was already in it. So $190 for the dentist (quite cheap) and $50 for the pain killers. This week alone has cost us just over $1000 on things that didn't need to happen a week out from xmas.

Then I get a txt from work asking me to work this afternoon, I can't. I have Nigel who has to be under adult supervision and Andrew. The woman gets snarky with me - she is lucky I finish up the week after xmas - that it was ok to work a few weeks ago but not today. Hello I have a very sore husband, who can't be on his own and a 2 year old, do you really thing he is going to be able to look after Andrew. Some people don't understand what it is like to have a family.

Well I am feeling very sad about xmas now My brother, SIL and their 3 kids live in Masterton, and now that the kids are getting older (5-10 yrs) they like to stay at home for christmas day which is fair enough cos the kids like to stay home and play with their new stuff. Usually, we (me and Daniel, Mum and Dad) either go down there for christmas lunch or they come up for lunch on boxing day. So this year, we are going to Daniels family for lunch and my parents are going to masterton for lunch then here for tea, so my brothers family may call in here for a fleeting visit on boxing day, but no family get together Thats the best part of christmas for me and now its not happening. Get to spend the day with hubbys family (again)... I know they are my family too, but its just not the same. Plus everyone is so stressed and they just want it all to be over with which is sad (am talking about my mum and SIL) so dont really care so much about getting together as family.

Oh well, guess I better put my order in for next year - spend day with my family.

Aw, Aimee... you've got me thinking about what it's really about now!  Hope you get Christmas with the family next year.

Hmmmm... I don't even have a Christmas rant this year!!  It's mostly all thanks to buying tear fund 'gifts' for everyone and ordering Ella's prezzie on-line.  Sooo Drop Dead Easy!  Now to start the fudges and cute little truffles that look like tiny chrissy puddings... I can't even rant about that, I'll enjoy most of it!  I suppose there's the fruit salad to feed 22, but so long as I'm not the one braving the supermarket on Christmas eve for it, she should be right.  Good lord I'm having an irritatingly Pollyanna-ish moment!

Went into the supermarket (we only have one here) about 4pm today thinking if I go now I wont have to go again until after xmas, but every other bl**dy person here obviously had the same idea. Only had to get a handful of things and Hannah was a bit grumpy, thank god we saw my mum there. Anyway, ended up putting my stuff back cos the lines were ridiculous and couldnt get out so had to leave the empty trolley in an aisle Felt bad but Han was mad and we had to go. Even the express line had about 15 people in it and you could hardly move anywhere - craziness!! Will go back early tomorrow by myself...

Hmmmm.. Christmas vent, or more just a vent about the useless blimmin pharmacy down the road.

I suppose the story starts on MOnday when I was miserable and grumpy so went and spent $130 at the Baby Factory on bobux shoes and toys for the twins (they REALLY needed them )... It continues on to a trip to the Patch outlet yesterday that set me back $140 on clothes for Maya and baby wraps...

Which is all fine because I got a refund from Southern Cross so had a spare few $$$ floating around. Until today.

I went to pick up Mercedes formula from the pharmacy (we get it on prescription) and instead of getting 2 weeks worth like I told them too, they had ordered in 6 weeks worth and told me if I didn't take it today they would send it back to the supplier and might not be able to get it when I need it in a couple of weeks. I made a snarky comment about it not being possible for it to be out of stock, but I didn't really have a choice and ended up having to shell out $155 for the whole blo*dy lot! So there goes the rest of the Southern Cross refund plus a huge chunk of my Xmas money

Still I suppose at least I won't need to buy formula for a while - I just need to find somewhere to store 27 tins of the stuff!

I am feeling better - lewis is really supportive about his family, which has made me feel so much better. next xmas rant though

1. got told today that we aren't having xmas dinner at our house now, but at L's Nana's house. Lovely for them to tell me and not involve us in the decisino process, L was rather annoyed, til i saw the silver lining - i can cook, unaided, no "you should.." comments, no one trying to clean up as I cook.....and a few glasses of wine - and then we can go..and leave early so the kids can have a bath and bed....sigh. looking better all the time!

2. we are doing secret santa this year. I was tallking to BIL I said "L had D", BIL sauys "No, I have D" and I checked...he's right!! so I told L the wrong thing and now he has to get another prsent. Oops!!!

Lol, mike decided yesterday that we weren't being xmasy enough, so proceeded to spray fake snow round all our windows and got out and hung our 1 strand of fairy lights around the house, lol.. glad he feels better, very cutesy.

MIL rung this evening and we are now having a barbeque at our place here.. which is ok, we just need to now ring our neighbours and tell them that thank you their invitation to their place was great but we are now staying at our place(have a feeling it will end up getting mixed cos our girls can't stay away from each others houses now) soo. of to the supermarket i go tomorrow morning, and stupidly enough we still want a pic of the girls with santa.. so will brave the stores early to get one.

Mike is out in the shed currently puttingup the swing.. lol.. so we'll see how that goes, but at least all the bits are there that i can see. yaya!

now just for the slide. he he

Merry Christmas everyone - hope you are all having a wonderful day! Funny how we still manage to get on here tho isnt it!

We're having a good day so far but just need to have my one moan cos I cant tell anyone really. I have mentioned before about my inlaws being pretty scroogy, well all Hannah got from them was a rash vest/tog bottoms. Now I dont expect a lot, maybe a book or something as well. I dont know, maybe I'm just spoilt but I find it quite sad... Oh well, feel better for having said it now!

Aimee, after all the xmas rush was over, i noticed my in laws got Taine something, but gave Jake clothes - the clothes they had bought for him for his birthday - and they were crappy and too small. nice - really nice. during the present opening, my MIL kept saying - the boys have too many toys, you have to get rid of some now.

Merry christmas everyone.
we had a really good day, had all the family here so that was great and most of them came back today to finish off the food so it was really neat. My friend had her baby on Saturday so was still in hospital so her wee girl came over for a few hours too, was really great having family and friends over, I like those big christmas's even though everyone kept saying oh poor you having so many people at your house but I love it.
Only thing i was annoyed about was (and this is my rant) I was just about to leave last night about 6pm to go and see my dad for christmas and hubbys uncle turned up unannounced which is ok but hubbys mum (uncles brother) was suppose to meet her here and she never turned up, he waited and waited and I didnt feel like we could leave to go to dads and his uncle is rather painful, hard to talk to etc... so after almost 3 hours later he gives up waiting for MIL and decides to leave!!! So I didnt get to see my dad and I had to try and entertain him for ages, MIL got a telling off today!

My only one from yesterday is the M and FIL opening up all of Andrew's presents out of the boxes. We wanted to wait as we knew most of the stuff they got him would need batteries and we didn't have any. He was very dissapointed when he couldn't actually play with the car cos it didn't work.

I lie I have 2. BIL is engaged, BUT we haven't been told so as far as we a concerned the girl is his friend (that is how she had been introduced to us last year), so we never brought her a present (i don't buy presents for brothers and sisters friends). So when SIL was taking his present (we weren't going to the in laws for lunch) we were asked for the "friends" present. DH said "we don't buy presents for friends". The look we got from his father was priceless. Nothing else has been said about it, but if his mother doesn't want to tell us they are engaged then we will continue to call her his "friend".

lol Becks..

Hey ladies i think this is a record for me.. 3 days without signing in to oh-baby!

My girls got well and truely spoilt. we had an allright day however bike has to go back already - was at work on xmas eve and rung mike.. to find he had found a couple of pieces had a crack in them.. so hopefully off to kmart tomorrow to get a new one (or money back but hardly likely since we bought it ages ago.. even though it's only been put up 3 days ago and never ridden)

Am absolutely tired as heck.. neonates is chocka-block and have been flat ack.. looking after 5 babes a shift, which is ok, but certainly not for the faint-hearted at times... crazy busy.

have tomorrow off at least then back to work again.
Hope everyone had an ok day, even with the out-laws, lol.
