Our house is right next to a mangrove swamp and at the moment we have HEAPS of flies around. They drive DH and I completely nuts.

Anyway, before we knew I was pregnant he bought this contraption which fires out a little bit of flyspray every minute or so, and it's worked brilliantly to get rid of the flies. Trouble is, I'm paranoid that it's going to be bad for the baby, so I've switched it off and now the flies are back. GAAAAAH!!!

Does anyone know about flyspray and pregnancy? It says on the bottle that it's safe for adults, children and pets, but I'm not sure if that counts for pregnant women as well.

If it is the Robocan automatic flyspray thingey then you and bubs should be fine. I was told by the salesperson at Mitre 10 that it was perfectly safe for preggies as it uses a natural pyrethrum spray repellant which is very gentle.
Hope this helps!

What Mel said (about the pyrethrum - excellent repellant and safe too)

You should all read this article re natural fly sprays and pregnancy:

https://investigatemagazine.co.nz/2078/natural-insect-sprays-may-be-as-toxic-to-children-as-lead-paint-study/" rel="nofollow - https://investigatemagazine.co.nz/2078/natural-insect-sprays-may-be-as-toxic-to-children-as-lead-paint-study/

I am steering away from natural, it seems to be worse than the chemical equivalent when the PBO ingredient is added. This article was from 2011 though and I couldnt find a more recent study. Ahh the mindfield!
