ok am i being paranoid about this or??
I have a post natal midwife who was recommended to me by specialist...but since i first contacted her she told me she was retiring at some point...and would have a replacement. Then when she rang back (weeks later) she didnt recall conversation with me and told me it all again and took details again. She also told me she would get the one taking over to contact me. Well - this was waaaay back in like sept and have heard nothing from anyone. Should i have heard from the new one by now? I am starting to worry that i have no postnatal carer at all. I have little faith in the one i spoke to and no idea who the new one is at all! No contact no name no nothing!!! also if this isnt normal then does anyone have recommendations for a post natal midwife in east auckland at all??? If we go off early i have no idea who to contact for post natal care now.... |

Hmmm that sounds a bit suss! Maybe talk to your OB and find out whether you have any other options for postnatal care?
I had most of my postnatal care from my independent midwife so didn't have to worry so much, but she did send the postnatal midwife that works with them to see me once and I spat the dummy and refused to see her again because she weighed the babies with their clothes on (  ) and was just generally vague and unhelpful. -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)

I'm under a different system down here, ie my midwife now will also do my post-natal care. So I'm just popping in to say I don't think you're being paranoid at all, that sounds truely weird!! ------------- |

i dont have a midwife cause we have a specialist due to our "problems" so have to get someone to do postnatal as a result...the more i have been thinking on it the worse i feel about her and her replacement....bet she has logged me in for govt funding or something somehow tho already....that wont stop me being able to change will it???
OMG anyone know any good ones out east...Im going to contact our antenatal class one too who works out of botany in case she can recommend someone..she was really nice but doesnt do post natal.... oh the joys of being "special" |

I am from out East, I know a couple of midwives Joyce Cowan in Howick, Lindy Younge in Bucklands Beach, Chris Barlow Howick I am Sue, Kellys mum and Caitlyns nana, I am also the trained karitane/nanny who is preferably looking for work in my own home in Howick as I am looking after Caitlyn for Kelly and because I need to be home before and after school for my special needs daughter. I have a dog but if I look after children in my own home she would be in the bedroom when children were awake or outside when children were asleep. Once Caitlyn goes to school in June next year I may do nannying, but I would prefer to do work in my own home |

I am def keeping you in mind for caregiving too...and dogs are great - we have two plus three cats...the cats concern me more than the dogs to be honest!!! |

Thanks for keeping me in mind for caregiving. If you know anybody in your antenatal class put out the word. I live in Finnerty Ave Howick . Hope this wouldn't be too far away for you. I have carseats, highchairs and portable cots. |
