I thought it might be helpful to the new Mum's/Mum's-to-be to do a survey od which brands of baby products we all use/prefer to help them work out which ones are best for them. So....

Cloth or diposable?
If disposable, which brand?
If cloth, which type/system/brand?
If you use bottles/teats, which brand?
Which type of sterilising system (microwave, electric, miltons, boiling etc.?)
Baby bath products (bath liquid, shampoo, soap etc.?)
Baby lotion/oil?
Nappy rash cream?
Baby powder?
Washing powder?
Fabric softener?
What do you use for dry skin?

If you can think of any others, add them!

Cloth or diposable? Mixture of both
If disposable, which brand? Huggies
If cloth, which type/system/brand? "Real nappies" covers (Bummis whisper wraps) with flats folded inside, have some fuzzis for later
If you use bottles/teats, which brand? Avent, but might try those new tommee tippee ones with new bubba, although I am a RABID breastfeeder!
Which type of sterilising system (microwave, electric, miltons, boiling etc.?) Microwave, Miltons and dishwasher..
Baby bath products (bath liquid, shampoo, soap etc.?) J&J bedtime bath
Baby lotion/oil? J and J bedtime lotion, I find the lavender is fantastic for jakes eczema
Nappy rash cream? Karicare red lid/ Bepanthen
Baby powder? J and J, I just like the smell...
Washing powder? Persil, I find it leaves less lint as it has less fillers in it, and I like the smell the best
Fabric softener? whatever is cheap...usually cuddly or some such stuff
What do you use for dry skin? Baby moisturiser, the lavender stuff for jake, J and J, and for me, whatever I have around, with bio oil and/or vaseline jelly to "top it off" in bed. I get awful dry feet

Oh, and wipes, I love huggies, nice and thick, moist throught to the end of the packet, although they aren't as thixk as they uised to be, I still find them the best. I find it a bit of a false economy to buy "cheap wipes" (I had heaps of pams cherish at the start, and found they dried out toward the end of the tub)when you might have to use 2 or 3 when one huggies wipe does the trick...

Cloth or diposable? Disposable - Huggies fit the best by far.  I think it depends on your baby's build though, so worth trying a few out.
If cloth, which type/system/brand?  Gonna get the Fuzzibunz after much research.
If you use bottles/teats, which brand? Avent all the way!
Which type of sterilising system (microwave, electric, miltons, boiling etc.?)  boiling - only one bottle feed a day and I can boil the breast pump and bottles in one go.
Baby bath products (bath liquid, shampoo, soap etc.?)  You seriously don't need much of these!!  J&J suit us well - shampoo, soap, bath lotion, talc.
Baby lotion/oil? Never used the oil
Nappy rash cream? I'm trying them all out!!  Best value by far is one in a tub with a blue lid... I think it's by M&C Health or something like that.
Baby powder?  J&J - the pure cornstarch one.  I don't use it for her bum though, only for under her arms to get those creases reeeealy dry.
Washing powder?  Good old Reflect suits us all just fine!
Fabric softener?  Fabric whatner?
What do you use for dry skin
Bit of an ad here... we're trialling the new J&J Baby range for dry and sensitive skin and their 'intense moisturiser' is really good!  Hope it's on the shelves soon.

wipes  Huggies or J&J... unscented.  They're by far the best!  But at home I use a flannel with warm water too.
