Ok so I know I wrote the article for OHbaby! on tips for summer newborns, but it's a different story when you're actually going thru it!

We're up on the North-west NSW coast and today it is supposed to top 40 degrees There's no aircon in the place we are staying so I have a fan going 24-7 in the gremlins room but even then it's like an oven and I am putting them down in just a nappy and a thin wrap and they still wake up sweating. ATM Mercedes is asleep in the pram on the deck where there is a bit of a breeze and she guzzled 40ml of cool boiled water without even stopping for a breath even tho she's never had it before. It's just so HOT!

Bring on tomorrow when we go back to Sydney to Mum and Dad's and the glorious air con! I feel so sorry for my poor hot, sweaty bubbies!

Ohhh... I so can empathise ! We were lucky that there was aircon at one BILs place and ceiling fans EVERYWHERE at the others ! (In roughly the same area of NSW too...) Big hugs for you and all of your beautiful girls !

My girls are a bit older so we have the paddling pool set up and the girls love splashing/dipping in there. When I can't be bothered going outside to supervise, I let them in the bathroom with the tap trickling! Trying to remember to give the girls lots of water - Hannah's old enough to ask but I need to offer them to Briona (and then they get guzzled)

I miss that heat over there. I wouldn't want to be there pregnant or with a newborn but when i'm just me I love it. I know weird, but I grew up in the heat over there and still love it.

OMG!! I found it hot enough for me when I was in Sydney, and last year when we visited friends in the Gold Coast but we never got to 40deg, Anastasia was 3mths and it was hard enough keeping her cool ...... loved the big shopping malls for the air conditioning on those really hot days. Good luck for the rest of your trip Emma
