I don't know if y'all remember me posting about this a while back, but I've finally got the quote, made a booking and paid the deposit... and the rest is a birthday present from hubby. On March 10th I will be getting this inked on my upper right arm:

Toni - take your time, I learned the hard way about choosing something meaningful as your first one... plus there's finding the right tattooist etc.

I agree with Jax, chose carefully, Ive got one that i want to try and get covered up somehow but that will have to wait cos i want to get the one ive designed with the kids names done next.
I didnt think the pain was to bad. There is a place in chch that offers anesthetic though! |

I love my tats my hubby is a virgin. He has been wanting something just not sure what for a while that. He has changed from never ever wanting one to wanting one,lol.

I have 2 on my back and also another waiting for me to get my A into G.
I want to do an arm band or something on my chest(have to shave a spot haha) but will wait till no2 is made and here and get something good with the names and dates. DW wants a tat but she just wants it for the look not for a reason so I'm not to keen for her to jump into it without thinking about it first. ------------- Look out! It's a man. SAHD

i have to update my ankle one, its got the other two kids initials on either size of a butterfly (i will try get a photo hard to explain) so will have to fit an R somewhere and I am having trouble figuring out where to put the R so it looks ok so will get your options. I also have one on my back (celtic cross) I would say the back one hurt a hell of alot more than ankle as that didn't hurt. ------------- Ann

Probably like his bros and over one side of the chest and upper arm, but it will include his ancestry and the boys - apparently wives don't count!!! although I have always been a believer that names of girlfriends and wives tattoed is inviting trouble! |

Love the design Jax, that script is very similar to the font I have for Maya's name.
I'm going to get the twins names and their date of birth and birth flower on my right upper arm this week. My brother owns an alternative/underground clothing store and runs a punk metal record label and has a full sleeve on one side and a half on the other so he is going to get his tattooist to do it for me cheap. -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)

| I was having trouble deciding between a design i made up with butterflys and stars and the kids names and one i found which was a really cute we cherub asleep on a cloud with the name and DOB inside the cloud. If i do the butterfly one it will go sort of flying across my back but im not sure what i would do with the cherub one cos i would need do to two of them. I cant wait, Im soooo desperate to get it done. |

Right in the middle, top of heart with the same "bracket" you have on the outside of the other letters, on either side of the "R" - hard to explain. Jax - great design, love it. I'm a virgin and will probably stay that way - DH has all the pictures, both arms, arm band, and tribal super imposed over one coming over shoulder onto his chest - he's quite hairy so I clipper shave him reg to see them the best. Toni - I second thinking very carefully about what you get and where etc....I got my first tattoe on impulse becuase I thought it would be cool and it was the all classic rose on ankle...I regretted it the very next day. That was about 10 /11 years ago now. The only reason it's still there is that it would cost $2000 plus to remove!!
On the other hand I love my dolphins on my shoulder because I really thought about them and had inspiration and a freind helped design them. It's hard deciding what to get! ------------- http://lilypie.com">

thanks guys i never thought to put the design around the r although had thought of it being up top. i am going to get the colour redone as well, when i get round to it. got to mak sure it doesn't get too big as in my line of work it doesn't look professional - i work in a bank. ------------- Ann

It is a design that my ex partner and I chose together (he got it on his upper left arm)but on the day the tatooist couldn't fit us both in, so just G got his done. He was killed in an accident a week later, so I went and got mine done as a tribute, kinda..... |

oh thats so sad Clare, what a lovely way to remember him though. Hubby and i got matching tattoos for my 21st present, chinese characters though so nothing girlie hehe dont think he would have gone for a rose or heart!
I know what you mean Ann, i work in law and I dont think they would like me having obvious tattoos although a couple of the partners that have seen them think they are cool. |

yeah work has never commented negativily against the ankle tatt - they can't see the other one on my back but I am sure if it got a bit too big and obvious they would - although what really could they do? besides I have skinny ankles so would look funny with a big tattoo.

Hmm tatts have never interested in me, some girls i know cant wait to get one, i can take it or leave it, if i was to get one it would be rather small in a place i could cover up easily, probably a butterfly or something, cliche i know |
