I've heard that eating too many eggs is bad for you but i still don't know why, and how many is too many??
the reason i'm asking is because mikey absolutely loves eggs, he'll eat them any which way, scrambled, boiled, in an omelette, you name it. he's eat them all day if i let him. this is kind of worrying me so i only let him eat around 1 every day or so.
should i be letting him eat more? if so how much more (or less)?
and is anyone able to tell just why eggs are bad???

It's because they are quite high in cholesterol (I think). Although some recent studies have shown no direct link between cholesterol in food and cholesterol in the blood.

Apparently it use to be that an adult should only eat 2 max a day as it was bad for the heart but now i think it has changed to as many as you like due to not enough evidence to back it up. Just as long as you have a balanced diet and not just eggs.
I asked my mother just to make sure as i have had this conversation with her before

Yea I thought (I can't remember where I read it) that about 7 eggs a week is ok - for an adult.

I've been known to eat eggs daily...studies did say they should be restricted then a new study said "en egg a day is ok".

I don't know how anyone keeps track of what is good and bad for us so I say choose which ever one you want!

Eggs also have sulfer in them and some people react badly to having too much of it.

hmmm, so is giving mikey an egg a day ok?
he doesn't seem to react badly to them and he loves them.

Doesn't sound like a problem to me.

I wouldn't worry. It is a great source of protein for him, if its only once a day? And, if he's anythng like my toddly one, he will have a burst of wanting nothing but (2 weeks of eating as many as 4 oranges a day, now back onto bananas and off oranges) then go off it just as quick!

lol yeah annie, that sounds like mikey as well. he gets obsessed with one type of food and then just as suddenly doesn't want a bar of it anymore. at the moment it's bananas and eggs.
