Just wondering if anyone can tell me who I approach to find out more information about donating eggs to infertile couples. It's something I've been thinking of a lot, and would like to look into it in detail. Thanks

A fertility clinic would be a good start I think.

If you are in Auckland (which I think you are) Fertility Associates are always after them. I think they are in Greenlane.

It would be interesting to hear how you get on with this if/when you persue it.. I have often thought about the same thing.. If surogacy was legal here i might even consider that as my pregnancies are relatively straightforward as are my births.. who knows.
I think I have thought about it more lately as a good friend has to go in for a hysterectomy in a month or so.. she is only 24, would desperately love kids but PCOS and ENDO are very very bad. I feel sad for her.

I have a friend who has donated her eggs. If you don't have any joy from places suggested Pm me and I shall find out from her how she went about it.

yep fertilty associates is best place to start - they can run through the criteria with you - i think you have to be finished with your family though - as in no more babies etc....

I've been thinking of the possibility of doing the same thing when we have finished our family (if my eggies aren't too old by that stage!) as they say that women who have been through IVF already are good contenders as you already know what sort of success you have with egg collection, and you know what the side effects of the drugs are. By the way, don't be put off by the side effects - for me I didn't really suffer any bad side effects.

I think i could do surogacy but not sure about egg donation. Good on you Clare, must be so horrible for people who cant have children, makes me feel so lucky to have been able to get pregnant easily.
