I had a look at some sleep bags in Ballantynes but they are $159 each! My sister used some in the UK that only cost about £18 - that's less than $50.

For a new baby (spot the first time Mum!) how many would I need and where is best to get them from?

Thanks a lot

Tricia

I used a light weight one from babycity, they have polarfleece ones up to $40, and the one I got was on special from $29 down to $5. We use ours all the time, not so much now Haleighs older, but we did and will def with this baby.
Baby factory sell the expensive ones ranging from around $50 up to over $150 (well they did in lower hutt when i last looked).
I highly recomend them if you have a baby who has the habit of kicking off blankets, or your baby is born over winter, they can also stop baby from slipping under blankets in the night as they are already ina blanket.
We have 2 but we needed a few more as one was for pram and the other was for bed and we had to wash it often, especially with little sccidents like sick baby. So prob 2 - 4.

Snap Haleighsmum - we got the ones from Baby City on special for $5 too! haven't used them yet as I am still swaddling the gremlins, but will use them in winter.

Janine (Mum2Paris) was making carseat/pram sleeping bags at one stage but not sure if she still is, the ones she made for the gremlins are great and even Maya fits in them (believe me she's tried!). Maybe PM her if you're interested.

We bought a Gro-bag which is one from the Uk, it cost about $95 here (gift money to but it) we have used it on the cooler nights in Wellington as fay is a blanket kicker, there are cheaper options around. friends in the Uk swear by them and sent the cash over for us to specifically but one.

I got a light weight quilted material one off trade me for $15. You can get them ar farmers, too, in summer and winter weight,a nd baby city etc often have them for the $20 to $30 mark. I think they are great. I've only got one, but if they are cheap, I guess you could have as many as you wanted?
