Hey ladies I was just wondering what do you think I should do about feeding my boy on my wedding day. Am expressing so he can be bottle fed but I was wondering what I would do cos I dont want to have to express through out the night when my boobs get really heavy and sore. ummm I dont know what I will do. When are you getting married? Your supply should be close to settling down by now, so you might not have to worry? amybe if you start ecpressing and bottle feeding him around the time you want to not be doing that (as in express earlier in the day), your supply will adjust itself accordingly if you get my drift? Like it does when you drop night feeds. You can easily build it back up again with extra pumping and B/F after the big day. ------------- The Honest Un PC Parent of 2, usually stuck in the naughty corner! :P |

i stopped expressing during the night for the twins at about 5 weeks, and found taht I was a little engorged and sore by the morning but not to o bad and at that stage I was producing a huge amount of milk. Maybe try giving Jaxon an expressed feed during the night so you can see how your boobs feel in the morning as kind of a 'trial run' so you know what to expect.

Like I said, you may find your supply has settled down a bit by then anyhow, you know, your boobs will feel softer. Your body makes most of the milk it needs after baby starts feeding anyhow. ------------- The Honest Un PC Parent of 2, usually stuck in the naughty corner! :P |

Yea I would go with Expressing in the morning and the following morning. How about a quick pump (just to make your more comfortable) between the wedding and the reception?? Are you getting photos taken inbetween the ceremony and reception? Maybe you could add 15mins to the time allocated for that just in case. Your guests will all be happy talking over all the lovely details of your ceremony for however long it takes. But I hear ya - not quite what you plan to be doing in a wedding dress... What a hassle! The trial run is a great idea. Is it an afternoon ceremony? you could maybe express not long before leaving for the ceremony, then pack the pump just in case you need it later on in the evening. ------------- Andie |

Haha - this just reminded me of something my mum told me. She was still breastfeeding me when she and my dad got married and obviously didn't really think things through cos when she was standing at the front of the church, I started crying and her boobs just started leaking BIG TIME and it went all over the front of her dress and she was like that for the rest of the day!! While it has always made me laugh - I would hate for that to happen to you Kell so make sure you have lots of "stuff" in your bra so that you don't have any unexpected accidents  ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

also, you could feed him just before you get into your dress - which is usually the last minute.. and quite a fair few people get changed out of their dress half way throught reception anyway into normal clothes so you'd probably be able to feed him if he will be there.. or get the baby sitter to bring him for you to feed maybe. otherwise, depending on if you are spending the night away from him, if you feed him before you leave for the ceremony then staight when you get home that should be ok (unless you plan to drink.. then will have to express instead) ------------- Janine and her 2 cool chicks, Paris & Ayja
