Bedrest

I am not so sure you can actively reduce it by taking something, as it is linked to BP I would say rest should help!

Bombshell it would pay to talk to your boss about arranging a week's sick leave immediately. Tell him (or her) that otherwise you may be admitted anyway so best this way and they'll be more likely to see you next week.

After some not-so-helpful googling, I found this:

"If you have mild preeclampsia and your baby has not reached full development, your doctor will probably recommend you do the following:

    * Rest, lying on your left side to take the weight of the baby off your major blood vessels.
    * Increase prenatal checkups.
    * Consume less salt.
    * Drink 8 glasses of water a day."

That's if your BP is up. Otherwise it's a sign of UTI or kidney problems. Or there's one other thing I know that can show protein and that is having sex not too long before the sample, say in the morning. No, I don't know that from personal experience

Hope that's helpful. I guess you're probably already doing all that tho

Have the baby . If your BP is up as well then if they admit you, demand it have the baby now. I had all those problems (BP and protein) with Andrew and did the tears and got an induction (finally), at the moment i'm steady with things.

Bp was finally ok (only little high) today...glucose fine too...

Umm didnt have sex....im always too scared that he might decide to do internal or something and see that we fooled around before appt LMAO!!!

I drink heaps each day - i buy a water bottle and refill it at least 3 times..so at least 2 litres each day...

i guess answer is rest...have client thing in morn...so will come home after wards...and rest...and same for next day....hope to be home by lunchtime...so wont go back to work after....a week off in my profession is just a no go zone at moment...doesnt help I know....

Yep I do understand the work thing. See what mw says a your next check though because any time off work would still be better than being admitted until your due date Are you in a big office or small? (ie number of people)

hhm was that in a blood test or wee-on-a-stick test.

if it is from weeing on a stick - you won't reduce it really - all it means is that your kidneys are letting protein go out into your urine instead of keeping it in your blood circulation like it should be... meaning that your body isn't really coping as well as it could be.

definately try to rest with feet up to stop fluid pooling in your legs and ankles, drink more water to keep fluids up and help flush out nasties (is a little kinder on your kidneys too rather than being dehydrated)
and try to rest up.

With wanting to have baby, it depends on alot of things, but really unless it got quite bad.. with baby only being 33.2 weeks at this stage, they would try to hold off on inducing you because of more risks to baby.. at least for another 2 weeks - 36 weeks is a much better and acceptable time.. babies do so much better. as i said though depends if the risks to you and baby outweight the risks of having baby prem, but it's not usually quite as clear cut as asking for one unless baby is old enough for them to agree.

it was a wee on stick one...actually did both of the tests they leave out...cause specialist has one in office and sign says to use other and i can never remember which one he has in office...so he freaks out if i give him the results of the wrong one...
did both and failed them both equally!!!

Now am going to lab to do a pee one....gotta love putting pee into a jar!!!! I have no shame now....

Im trying to hold her in...seriously....and will rest where i can...Busy mum I pm'ed you....and as for getting to 36 weeks - heck back when in July we were desperate to get to 28-30 weeks with all our problems so anything fromhere on in is a blessing..

Ok off to put my feet up now...I promise!!!

The fun one is when they make you do a 24 hour collection of your pee. That one is not nice. The pee in the cup is fine as its just once, but the whole 24 hours - yuck . I had to do it 3 times when I was pregnant with Andrew. I looked really cool taking a 2 litre bottle full of pee up to the lab at the hospital.

He should only admit you if your BP is up as well I thought. I hope you don't cos I know how boring and annoying it is being stuck in hospital.

Bombshell another idea would be to reduce hours until baby is due, maybe 30 hour weeks?

When I was in hospital at 26 weeks with th egremlins threatening to come out I shared a room with a lady with pre-eclampsia and they had her on an Omega 3 supplement to help with the protein.

Im still waiting for test results so will see what specialist says...but if ok im not going to do anything...if still high i will get go ahead from him to try that as omega 3 seems to be common remedy for it...
