* A general suspension of the driving ban for goods of all kinds due to a pandemic has not been planned in the federal states since July 1, 2021.
In order to guarantee a continuous delivery to the vaccination centers and other agencies nationwide, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure has asked the federal states to make general exceptions for the transport of corona vaccines and the materials directly related to them, both in relation to the Sunday and public holiday driving ban and the Saturday driving ban to be issued according to the Holiday Travel Ordinance.
The exception to truck driving bans in connection with the corona pandemic applies only to the transport of vaccines.
* Extension of certificates and licenses:
Regulation (EU) 2020/698 of the European Parliament and of the Council entered into force on 28 May 2020 and was directly applicable in all Member States from 4 June 2020.
Due to the second Covid-19 wave, the European Parliament and the Council recently adopted Regulation (EU) 2021/267; this Regulation entered into force on 23 February 2021 and will have direct effect in all Member States as of 6 March 2021. Its reference period directly follows on from that of Regulation (EU) 2020/698 (It should be noted that Member States can or could decide not to apply certain provisions from Regulation (EU) 2020/698 and/or from Regulation (EU) 2021/267. For each such case, a notification from the corresponding Member State to the European Commission is required.) The notifications from the corresponding Member State to the European Commission are published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
