Not worry about it, if she is healthy and happy she should be fine Kazzle. What a big grown up wee girl you have!

Hi Kazzle,

At Leos 9 month check they said around 600-700mls a day, he is the opposite to Rhiannon and was taking well over 1000mls lol!!  I have cut his bottles back since then, and offering more food instead.  Would she take it in a cup??  Not sure about Rhiannon but Leo can be quite independent at the moment and quite often pushes me away (but hunger gets the better of him lol!).  I would keep offering it to her, and if she keeps refusing it maybe she is weaning herself early.  She obviously is happy with her food

Good luck!

At one point Jaz went on 'breast strike' and wouldn't feed, she did that for about a week then went back to normal, I spoke to Plunket and they said it was not uncommon. Hopefully that is case with Rhiannon and she starts back on formula soon.

I don't think it's a problem, just think in two month's time she'll probably just want a cup of milk for breakfast and that's it. np!

lol you an always tell the first time mum yah...panics about anything and everything.

Rhiannon is healthy loves her food, loves yoghurt, cheese and ice cream...just hates formula.

I am already putting whole milk on her cereal in the morning...what are everyones thoughts on trying her on whole milk instead of forumla.

She has a well rounded diet...eats what we eat...lots of meat and veges

I would say no whole milk at this stage, it is too harsh for their digestive system and formula has added minerals and vitamins so especially if she is not taking much milk formula is a better option.

Will she take more from a cup than a bottle maybe?

my son was 11 months when put on normal milk and by 12 months he'd given up the bottle. He didn't want much formula when i changed him to normal milk (thinking formula was the prob) its just that he didn't want a bottle anymore

I'd be okay with whole milk from 10-11 mos onwards so long as you start with a little at a time and check that she doesn't have any problems with it (unsettledness that day etc). Keep up the yoghurt! And - sorry Emma - I wouldn't worry about the extra vitamins etc in formula vs milk because of the rest of her diet. (Everyone to their own opinion of course.)
