Hi there,

I was wanting to see if any parents out there can help with providing a suggestion on where there is a good place to go in Taupo for a rest break when travelling through. I have a 2 year old toddler and a 3 month old baby boy and find it really hard now to stop somewhere in Taupo (when travelling by myself) where I can watch my 2 old son without him wanting to take off exploring and still be able to feed and watch my 3 month old. When travelling with my husband we usually stop at MacDonalds in Taupo because of the play area and because they have highchairs, baby changing areas etc. But this time I will be travelling by myself and handling both of them by myself will be major mission.
So does anyone out there have any suggestions on where else might be suitable, or where I could get support just for an hour? I was thinking perhaps about the Taupo Plunket rooms, although I have never been there before.
Thanks for any suggestions.

We tend to stop at the gardens across from town and next to the museum because it has lovely gardens, a big playgroud and sometimes they have the mini train going and the public tiolets (although they are pay toilets!) are right there too.
I dont live there but we use to have a holiday home there so it was like a 2nd home, we also go there fairly regularly

That place - the supa-loo, is great - the parent's rooms are free to use, cannot remember but i think they have a microwave, change table and also a toilet there for little kids (and mummy... lol) they also have a little play area in the parent's room - ie if you took some toys in the nappy bag he'd stay occupied.

we usually either pack a picnic or go to the pak-n-save in taupo and grab some buns etc and yogurts for the kids - sit and have a picnic and the kids a run around then back into the car and the kids usually so tuckered out they go sleep! I recommend that place too!

Thanks for the couple of suggestions. Particularly the info on the SuperLoo. I think I will try the park and superloo and see how we go. Any more suggestions are very welcome to keep on coming as it will be a few weeks before we travel yet.
