Hi girls,

I have a question related to breast feeding again. I have just stopped b/feeding in the last several days and I think my hormones are playing up as I have been feeling a little emotional. Not sure if it is because I miss the close contact with bubs or not? Did anyone feel different after stopping breast feeding??

I did, but that's because my hormones really were sending me a bit fruit loopy anyway (before I stopped b/f). I think it's entirely possible, and maybe a sign that your body is gearing up for your period again as well?

I never knew this until recently but when your prolactin (breastfeeding hormones) drop off after you stop feeding it is normal to experience another dose of the 'baby blues' similar to after you give birth. The lactation consultant at Family Centre told me that and it made a lot of sense given how weepy I was both times I weaned.
