Hi - I never thought i would ever be that happy if my son had a poo poo nappy. how often and how full is normal
my son is breast fed with one formula feed a lunchtime - he takes about 150-180mls of formula.
he is 8mths old but as he was a premmmie his corrected age is 6mths - he has 3 solid feeds a day. he passes very little. tiny but what a smell - poo stink. he is happy in himself and all - plunket and everyone seem to think its find and if i think he may be constipuated to try orange juice 5mls in 50mls of water - i'v done all this - nothing has really changed - so whats normal. on solids should his nappies be chocker - or is it just that he is using everything he eats and drinks to grow.

Don't think there is a normal.

My girl goes everyday, and a good amount also.

I know one boy that only goes every 4 days one was a few times a day.

Look out! It's a man.

LMAO Rug_NZ - love your sig!

My two go every couple of days or so but aren't on solids yet. It is normal for breastfed babies to go less often than formula fed babies.

There is an article in the latest Treasures magazine about this very subject!
What is 'normal', what to look out for r.e. constipation, diaorhea (sp), smell and volume.
Having said that though, I agree with rug, there really is no normal. Both my kids have very different pooing habits and apparently both are within the realm of normal.
