OK OK... another guy story.
This one is Tobin. A pierced, tattoed, metal loving man (Annie would love him  ). I went out with him when I was in Dunedin but our little romance was cut short because of the ridiculous amount of gossip at our work.... and Tobin being quite a private guy.
Anyway, I emailed him a few months ago (after 3 years! haha) and met up with him before new year in Christchurch. It was cool, we had pizza. Watched Scooby Doo  and then he went home. Then I started getting lots of text messages from him... I decided he was Love of My Live Version 3 (Yes, taking the piss out of the fact that I have a new love every 5 minutes.  )
But Tobin was moving to Australia... so it didn't matter if he was briefly Love of My Life... until last night. Now he has changed his mind about travelling around the world and is going to come back the end of March to see me. I haven't ascertained whether he means come back and stay, or come back for a visit. But eeeeeeek!!! I couldn't sleep last night! I wasn't sure it was a great idea... but then Mum said to take a damn risk for once. (The last Love of My Life (aka Ross) was never going to happen... it was a great distraction from school but he's away with the bloody fairies - moreso than me  )
So yeah... wonder what's going to happen with this one! Difference from the last two LoMLs is that he is actually a reeeeeeeally nice guy. (That was my prob when we had our Dunedin thing... he was too "serious" for me! In my party fuelled promiscuous days!) Right. Novel over. Just had to tell someone(s)

Uhuh.. I already had for the previous 3 years! He was always my "Oh, it could have been so cool" regret. (Even tho he ditched me after our first date. Silly man.) He said he thought about me heaps after I left Dunedin. *muhahaha*
Anyway Roksana, to answer your question about being serious... yes, I'm HEAPS more serious (as in not just out drinking and sleeping around any more ) - that was the issue. He wasn't into sleeping round... that freaked me out because that's all I really had. (Geez - go figure how I got pregnant!) So yeah, it suits me now, and obviously he's still got that committment thing going down.

Well boring in a good way.... if thats possible A little romance certainly wouldnt go astray, specially after changing about 10 dirty nappies, going through a box of tissues and either or both of my children crying all day because they are both sick, I'd settle for a back rub and sleep about now

Liz - Yeah... Wairoa His Mum lives there and he is visiting her before he "moves" overseas. And now he's only going for a month!!! haha. (I did think about coming to visit you [and drop in on him] but he leaves for Whangarei soon to visit his Dad.) I do feel a bit bad that I have cut his big OE short, but it's his decision. And he said he'd take me travelling instead

For a hard man metaller... he's being awfully mushy. I must admit I'm a little afraid of it after my disastrous "I wanna spend the rest of my life with Zeke" (but not really Zeke - anyone would have done) relationship. Hannah is getting there - she has started saying he is cute now (she says everyone is cute... but Tobin wasn't cute for the first few days apparently). He has absolutely NO experience with kids... but is really trying! And doesn't even come across akward Jute was laughing at him the other day as he has started to get a bit more assertive... Han has picked him for the weakest link in the household and knows she can get him to do her bidding. He's finally making a stand though. hehehehe
I love that he is trying. He isn't overly freaked by the kid thing at all! It's great Anyway, Liz is going to meet him today (little does she know it) so she can give 3rd party review of Tobin

I'm BACK!!! well, in Palmerston with broadband thank god!!! Dad has DIAL UP and only 10 hours a MONTH!!!! I now have ten pages to scroll through.
Anyway, Tobin seemd very nice - but shy but then he had just met me and I think Nikki and I were talking aboput toilet training at one point - people's eyes tend to glaze over then. Medium height I think, dark hair....tattoes I think (should've taken a bloody picture)...pierced...something. Anyway, important thing was that the overall impression was very nice AND he held Nikki's hand down the street (hehehe) |

Yep. Pretty damn good. So easy to live with! I'm freaking myself by overanalysing everything but just need to remember to take a step back and look at it for what it is - the start of a relationship.
Hannah is not doing particularly well... I'm not used to this kind of stuff actually affecting her! I can't remember if I have rambled about it here already and to lazy to check back... but having Tobin around and combined with going back to creche 4 days a week has made her a super toad due to lack of attention from me. So I try... but she takes it out on poor Tobin. She's getting there though. She snuggled up with him on the couch last night - that's progress. |

A couple of days after we were back from our honeymoon, Kiya asked me when Daddy was going to go home! She was a little sad when I explained that now that we were married, Daddy was going to live with us. About a month ago, Nat was away for most of two weeks (but back for the weekend inbetween) and Kiya was so upset because she missed him so much!
It takes a little time, work and patience, but it is so worth it! Remember (and remind Tobin as he probably hasn't realised) Hannah is used to having your undivided attention. Its not really personal, it just feels like it. She'll come to realise that Tobin is just as important to Mummy as she is, but is NOT replacing her. ------------- Becca, mum of 2 girls & 3 boys |
