i was wondering if im able to move bubs safely from under my ribs kicking my lungs!! ..
I wondered at first whether it was actually bubs but now im pretty sure because when i start to feel the kicks up under my ribs the breathing starts to go to crap! then when i feel better i can feel the kicks down in my lowerish tummy, so even this early on i was wondering if its safe and even possible to gentley nudge bubs down lower???
when i strain (stick my belly out) i can feel a little bubs shape (like a cocoon) about 12 cms'ish going from just under my ribs to the middle of my belly button, i use to be able to feel the little cocoon when it was a bit smaller down just below b'button which is where MW found it but now that has gone and this new bigger cocoon shape is under my ribs so im just pressuming that this is bubs...

hmm would normally suggest rocking on all fours or leaning forward but bubs seems to be high up so that might not help...
try gently massage movements down with bubs and see if bubs will follow...that worked one time for me when i was damn near in tears and had to pull over to side of the road even...

Iv been gentlely masaging it down but 5 minutes later bubs is back in my lungs!! i get what ya mean too because im often almost in tears because its alarming not being able to breath properly!!
I was hoping i could do a little tougher masaging to move bubs?.....

I don't think that would be bubs that high up but I could be wrong. I'd say bubs has probably pushed all your organs and stuff up which would be squashing your lungs which might be quite hard to move. You might wana ask your midwife tho

That's what I was thinking.. I think your dates would have to be much further along for him/her to be up under your ribs that badly already

I think Rach is probably right - I had shocking trouble breathing particularly when I was lying down when I was preg with teh gremlins because my stomach, lungs etc. were all crammed up above them.

I would talk to your midwife or GP about it tho coz at 20 weeks your uterus is just about level with yor navel so you shouldn't be experiencing this kind of thing so early on.

hmmmm you dont have fibroids too do you??? mine often get pushed up there....I do find lying on my right side means bubs drops and then moves a little....I know they say left but truly for my freaky pregnancy lying ont he right gives the most relief (and had it oked by spec and ante natal class midwife)

Just on the lying on the left thing, I asked my OB abot that and he said it doesn't matter so much coz there are arteries on both sides that supply blood to the uterus. I favoured the right side coz Mercedes was bigger and I felt like if I laid on my left she was squashing Sienna. Dumb I know lol.

not dumb at all...i feel like im squishing bubs if i lie on left...and she squirms like mad if i do...but if on right side she seems to nestle back in and relax - altho still squiriming but in a different way..

Bays mum has bubs moved yet???

I got told lying on left side can help baby be anterior or something

Ditto what others have said. You would have to be further along to have baby up that high. He/She would still be under the belly button.

Il definately have to ask MW cos when she was feeling for bubs she showed me where bubs was laying and it was right at B'button level.
Plus i can also feels kicks in my ribs so if bubs isnt up there then what is it???

Maybe it's not kicks but something else *shrug* .. maybe some kind of weird growing thing or a bubble in your stomach lol... I'm guessing now lol

Roughly at 17 weeks the baby is 13 centimeters long from crown to rump, which is a tiny bit bigger then a avocado so still very little. I would suggest definitely asking MW.

I know how you feel it isnt nice, towards the end of my pregnancy with Haleigh I started to feel numb when she kicked jsut on my right side under the ribs, I think it was allthe kicking she was doing there, I used to slightly rub and gently push her foot down she sooon stopped for about an hr or so then went back to doing it lol.
But that didnt start til I was over 20wks.

See what oyur midwife thinks, could there be a baby in hiding? JK, Im not sure what it would be really. Hope it gets better soon

oh no Monique dont say that! lol even my MW wants to double check for twins because they run in the family and she was a little suspicious!! the scan showed only 1 bubs at 12 weeks but i know 3 people who didnt know they were carrying 2 until a late scan or when a second 1 popped up in labour!! i personally think there is only 1 though.
Im not far off 20 weeks now which is when you started having the troubles plus all my scans have put me a week or so ahead of my dates but only due to a nice big bubs because im certain of dates

Ive heard of that before, a friend of mine told me of someone thinking they were having one and had 3. now that owuld be a shock.
The lady who scanned me was suprised anyone could miss a baby in the scan, apparently its actually kinda common

Yeh my scans keep changing hte dates to.
I had a big bub first itme so I am kinda jsut putting it down to that really, MY scan I ahd with Haleigh est her to only be 7lb 12oz at 34wks and she was prob only going to be jsut on 8lb midwife thought so to, I dont know how they worked that out but they were wrong lol.
So if they try tell me a guess on weight for this one I wont believe it hehe.

Yup! im right there with you Monique because i was told at a scan i had at 37 weeks that Bay was going to be around 11-12lbs!!! but 2 weeks later when i had him he was 7lb 14oz but 57 cms long which is how they were so far off due to using the leg bone as measurement!! so i tend not to beleive them now im just assuming this bubs is a tall one like dadda and brother

Wow that's amazing, Krystiana was 57cm too (at 5 days old) and she had weighed 8lb at birth.

Well iv just had my scan and that bump is indeed bubs sonographer was picking up the head just above my b'button and the legs were right up in my ribs!! he didnt comment that it was unusual or anything and everything is where it should be so i guess its not that uncommon.
