Yay at last he's arrived!!!
Finally she sent me a text!!!!  - been waiting impatiently all day!
He arrived at 7:08am when she pulled him out! He's 9lbs 4 but doesn't have a name just yet.. Yay!!!!!!!!!!

and ouchy - 9 pounds!!!! so are you going to be like half of my ancestors and give him valentine as a middle name...seriously i have like 6 or 7 ancestors born on V day and all with a middle name of valentine!!! amle and female....kinda cool day to be born...nice gift for your DH!!!! |

OK so this will be a bit short but once i've had a sleep i'll probably be able to write more. We went into hospital at 7.30am to find that my MW had been there all night and had left at 6am to go home have a rest and shower etc. So my post natal MW was working and she hooked me up to the ctg to see what was happening. The OB came in while I was on that and was all keen for things to happen either gel if still not the best or break the waters. Once my MW arrived at 9.30 she had a check and the stupid cervix had moved further back and so I needed some gel put on it. We went away for a walk and then MW checked again at 12pm to see what was happening and was 4cm dilated but the cervix was still not behaving itself. She wanted to break the waters (and thinking about it now, she should of) but I wanted to get him to break them. Went away for another walk and was getting crampy so came back to the room and had a bath. Contractions were coming along every 5 minutes and lasting about 45 seconds. So I was made to get out of the bath and MW checked again and I was still 4cm but the waters were broken. Well that started it all off. The contractions were coming think and fast, so I stood up and leaned over the bed to breath through them. I had DH putting cold cloths on my face and my MW with cold cloths on my back. Felt really good. It was about 3pm and MW checked me again and I was only 5cm but pretty much fully effaced. I was getting a bit shi**y so asked for the peth which I was allowed but only a small amount. Well it worked and relaxed me but probably a little too much Now his name is Joshua Gareth. We had a few names picked that we liked (and would agree on) but he didn't look like any of the others (we had William and Nicholas) and Gareth is one of DH's middle names. He is feeding really well and sleeping good. We were in a single room for the first night and then moved to a double as there were a few c sections yesterday. Got another person in the bed next to me at about 1am and her baby was crying the whole night, I was so glad to leave this morning. I have some pics but haven't up loaded any yet. Will do that hopefully in the next few days - promise will get some on. Ok so it wasn't all that short in the end sorry. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

Sounds like hard work but worth it aye! Gotta love the name 'my' Joshua is 13 and is a great kids - gotta be the name aye??

He is doing really well. Feeding every 3-5 hours, so last night we went to bed at 11.30pm and then he didn't wake again till 4.30am had a feed and then back to bed at 5.15am. Then Andrew woke up at 8am so we got up then again. Heres hoping it continues this way. He has taking to BF really well. Have sore nipples but to be expected and as it would be I had cream from when I had Andrew and saw it the other day and have put it somewhere "safe", now I can't find it so DH is getting some from the supermarket tonight after he finishes work. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |
