Hi

When I used to get PMS - I would sometimes get dry flakey patches of skin on my scalp. (Sorry I know this is probably TMI - but I need some advice!!!). My hairdresser told me it was likely to be hormonal and not to worry. I used to use a tea tree oil shampoo (Paul Mitchell one was very good) to get rid of it.

And - now its back!!!

As we are only at 7 weeks - I still want to be extra careful, and have read that tea-tree should be avoided when pregnant! Does anyone have any other ideas that I could research or look into....I really dont want to have to go through the next 8 months worried about dandruff!!! I am supposed to be GLOWING!!!!!

Thanks!

Sam

Hi Sam, I'm a hairdresser and have also done some work with aroamatherepy/massage (a while back) I can't remember off hand about tea tree oil, can not remember contrindications regarding pregnancy will look it up and get back to you. As for the flaking yes could well be hormonal (stress related usually) Paul Mitchell has a good name but as I havn't used the products wont comment on them one that we did use (I trained in Australia) was De Lorenzo products "Tricho Series" it was fantastic, not cheap but very concentrated, used them myself & on DH I have eczema and he has psorisis(sp) with v good results. I will post again when I find my oils book to check.
