Ella is a very picky eater and lately we've been getting a bit tougher and just putting her to bed after a few warnings about eating up her dinner.
I've not been making special meals for her, although I do try to include a food I know she likes so that she eats something at least.
In the interest of keeping her well and healthy though I think I need to expand my range of recipes to include more toddler friendly meals. So Mummies please, what are your kids favourite dinners?

My girls' favourite is pasta - on it's own or with cheese sauce. If I do it with mince and veges they leave all them behind. More suggestions from Miss 3 come in the following forms:

"Pudding!" lol I an *sure* Ella would enjoy pudding for dinner too
Sausages/cheerios/saveloys
Boiled/mashed potato
Pumpkin, kumara (sweet veges)
Frozen mixed veges (for some reason they prefer the texture of them frozen, sometimes I give them some of them while I am preparing dinner, to tie them over)
Chicken (casseroled or roasted) - it's soft, but just remember to cut across the grain.
Fish cakes/fingers
Hash browns are a favourite here too

And now I'm being told that I've typed "too much"... I can take a hint Lasagne for dinner here tonight.

Well I make a bit of a different shepherds pie for her.

Take a gem squash and cook that. Then make the mince like you would normally. Put the mince in the middle of the squash. Mash patatoes on top with a bit of cheese and put in the oven. This way they get veggies in and it looks different.

Then 2 minute noodles with tuna in it. Some cream cheese and normal cheese and mix. Yummy. She absolutely love that. I know not really any veg in that. Guess you can take some Broccoli and cut into pieces and throw in there as well.

Then I will make some smiley vegie pizzas for her at Ella's age.

My son's fav's at the mo are....

Sausage & Potato Bake
I use the maggi mix or tin sauce stuff for potato bake. i put potato, sausage & veges in a dish then pour over sauce, nice & easy nd he loves it.

Or Chicken, Beans & Hash
Which i make by layering the bottom of a dish with hashbrowns then 1/2 tin of baked beans then top with chicken nuggets. I reapet the layering and top with cheese and bake.

& he also loves Boil up LOL

Mac n cheese is always an easy option...and you can add to it...like sausages etc...

Also nuggets, chicken, or fish fingers etc...and spaghetti - they love to make a mess with spetti!!!

In states we also did a lot of french toast dipped in cinnamon sugar...yes sugary but kids loved it (esp if beign contrary!!)...try maybe NZ style egg bread made into shapes - ie cut out the bread with cookie cutters before you do it.
