I stopped breastfeeding 2 weeks ago ( after 9 months) and still haven't got my period back, is this normal?, everyone i speak to got theres back whilst breastfeeding or within days of finishing, should I be worried ???

It took me a little while after finishing BF to get mine back the first time. If you get too worried POAS just to make sure you aren't pregnant. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

It varies widely for everyone. I have a friend whose little boy has just turned 1 and she still doesn't have her period - after weaning him onto formula by 6 months! Makes people like me jealous  It's nothing to worry about, especially after only 2 weeks. I think "normal" would be that you'd get it back within 3-6 months from now - which widely varies as I say.-------------  |

i've only just got mine back and i'm down to feeding mikey only twice a day. i think it varies quite widely from person to person. i wouldn't worry too much about it. ------------- |

Yep, it took a few months for me to get mine back. Stopped breastfeeding at 13.5 months and I think I got it back around 16 months. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

It varies person to person, and also baby to baby...
I stopped BFing Kiya at 6mths, and got my first period when she was 15mths... I stopped BFing Josiah at 8mths, and got my first period when he was 2mths... I'm currently BFing Xavier, and haven't got my first period yet (although I'm prepared just in case!) ------------- Becca, mum of 2 girls & 3 boys |

umm I wonder when I get mine too??? I am still breastfeeding so don't expect it till I stop but hoping even after that I get it like 6 months later LOL ------------- Ann
