I am slowly expressing some milk off so my mum has it just incase she needs it on Sunday. How much (mls) should I aim to get off. Joshua will be 3 and 1/2 weeks at the time.

I wont be able to say how much you need as you are doing it bits by bits. But if you take one session and just pumped before Breastfeeding and do it one and a half times the amount of time he feeds and then see how many ml's you express. You can then give him the bottle or feed from the boob.

You're only going out for 2 hours I think? So you'll need just one feed, which at his age will be something tiny like 50mls... is my guess.

If you're expressing a little, even once a day, you'll easily do more than 1 or 2 feeds. Just make sure you have it thawed in good time.

I express quite often - my little angel is not a very efficient sucker. Anyways she can drink anything from 60 to 130 ml in one go depending on how hungry she is but than she'll have a 4hr gap or so. Hope this helps.

I've been doing it very randomly as I don't want to built the supply up and have it cause issues. I time I got 40mls and another I only got 10mls. I have about 70mls frozen in ice cubes in a container now. I'm sure that should be enough for him for 1 feed.

Yeah that should be more than enough for one feed. Well im glad you said you are only getting small amounts, I was beginning to think there was something wrong with me as Im sometimes getting 10mls and other times 50mls. My friend gets 100mls just like that, so as this is my first time expressing I was thinking great I cant even express properly lol
