Hi all,
I noticed a mosquito bite on the back of my hand last night, white lump with itchiness. But now the white has almost disappeared, it's not itchy, but the surrounding area is red and tender (sore) and a little bit puffy - just slightly. Does this mean I have an infection? What do I do?????? I can only think about putting Dettol cream on it but since there is no "wound" would that make any difference?

can't say for sure as i can't see it, but paris has had a few lately and they came up huge and stuck around for days after the initial white bit went away. If it gets icky looking or very sore then seek some help, otherwise keep a watch, depending on how brutal the creature was that bit you it might take a while for the swelling and inflammation to go down. if you notice the redness getting bigger in size, also go see someone... you can always draw with pen around where the red is today and see how it is in the morning.. you'l know then if the red has gotten bigger.

Why do you think that is Janine?

Do you reckon we've had heaps more bees and mozzies around since the digging in Clearview recently? or is it just my imagination?

Weird.. well Ella has had some of these and at first I thought they were more chicken pox.. but they're not as they go away overnight.. then I thought maybe they are bites. But she isn't itching them They look similar to spots I sometimes get, from blocked hair folicles - could that be it? If you find out let me know!

he he, yeah i wonder if that's what it is. Mike has planted up a huge vege garden and gets bitten to heck when he goes out there, so maybe his garden is attracting them, but they are very very vicious - probably is cos they are diggin up when it has previously just been paddocks and disturbed all the buggies.

The redness never got less as far as area goes, but the whole thing is barely noticeable now. So I didn't bother asking about it. However I now have another mozzie bite on my arm That one is just "normal".

I tried bethanthem cream last night and dettol cream this morning. Bethanthem did nothing, I'm not sure if dettol helped or if it cleared up of it's own accord anyway.

lol Meow, Me and busy mum live around the corner from each other and they are digging up where old paddocks have been ad making a retirement village - she commented earlier in her post that maybe the mozzies and bugs were coming over to the houses because they are being disturbed. lol.. although just reading back, i couldn't understand half of my post i wrote either, lol.
