We've had a few members asking for a restricted photo gallery - a place where we can post pictures of our little ones and they are only visible to registered members.

What do you think? If we had a restricted photo board would you use it, or would you prefer to post your pics on the general public boards?

i think i'd rather use a restricted board than post photos for everyone to see (as it's been pointed out, mikey is often without clothes).

i think i trust all the members enough to not drool over my wee boy's body

LOL i had this dilemma this morning when i posted the in the bath photo...only one had her covered up and that was the lovely screaming one...

I think keep being able to post photos in threads but also have restricted...for various reasons (and not just for Mikey the nudie rudie!!!)

another reason for this...I would then post photos with me in them more...i dont do currently as anyone can access them...and i would guess other mums are the same?? i would love to know what other members look like and apart from our meet and greet photos we dont often see one anothers photos...

I don't see the point personally. It's a good idea but if some random person really wants to see the photos all they have to do is quickly join up

I like the idea of restricted but as Stacey pointed out they only have to join up. Is there any way it could also be monitored?

Only to members with a certain level of posting? Although I wouldn't draw it as far along as "seniors".

I personally don't care whether photos are restricted or not because I would be just as careful either way but.... I would prefer restricted for birth notices (full names).

You could have a restricted section and you need a 50 post minimum to access. Several of us know of another forum that does this and honestly it's a great idea...there is a lot I don't post here as there is no restricted section.

yeah a number like 50 or 100 would be ideal...means someone would really have to post to get to that point...and hey if they do that then they will do anything so nothing will stop photos being pinched / used etc...

I haven't really thought about it, but a restricted one with a post minimum to enter makes sense. I know Nat prefers I don't put pictures of him on here without his knowledge

I think it is a great idea. I know that I'm not too keen of posting pics of me (and DH def doesn't want anything of him on here). I would like to get to know other people better so think it's a good thing to do. I also agree there should be a minimum posts thing...

I agree with the idea, as you already know.

I think you become a Senior Member when you hit 100 posts here anyway?

i agree too that you should have a certain number of posts before you can access restricted areas... so for most of us on here already we would already be eligible so hopefully it wouldnt take too much to do it then new people would have to wait...

This is just MY opinion as there is obviously some background to this that I am unaware of, but... If we choose to put piccies on a "public forum" then we choose what we put out there in the public.

Even with this "100 posts gets you into restricted areas" thing, I really don't see that working to stop the types of people how are going to missuse this right to access areas.

I know it's nice to share pics of our kiddies but I always think before I post (i.e. the nuddie rudie ones) as this is a website that is just as open to hackers/lurkers as the photo storing ones.

The whole thing is that if you have a restricted area or an area where you need approved access to then it's a lot more work for people to see the photos who you don't want seeing the photos. (did that make sense!?) Yeah if people are determined enough they could still access but at least it is a measure of saftey.
