Has anyone read this book? It is one of my favorite books of all time, and last night I went to hear the author, Mitch Albom, speak. He was absolutely brilliant. Tuesdays With Morrie is pretty much about the meaning of life, and Mitch Albom speaks exactly as he writes. I came away with a lot to think about and have been feeling a little reflective ever since.

He has a new book out called "For One More Day" about what you would do if you could have one more day back with a person who has passed on - who would it be and what would you do/say?

I LOOOOOOOVE that book. I read it at least once a year to remind myself to appreciate my life and the people in it. (cheesy I know, but it works for me)
How awesome that you got to hear him speak, I wish could have gone!
Did you get his new book? I'd love to hear what you think Emma!

A challenge to you oh baby ers. I'm having a think, and will get back to this, but owuld be interested in hearing what others said.

Obviously, I could pick my Dad, but I knew he was going very soon, so I made each day like his last for my own sake, you know, telling and showing him things where I was able. The one thing I would like to have done, is of course, show him Charlotte.

Not too sure who else I would pick, and what I would like to do. thinking..

I sure did! I've started reading the book he wrote just before this new one called "Five People We Meet in Heaven" first, but will definitely let you know what I think! He read some passages from "For one more day" last night and it sounds like a real tearjerker.

I'm not sure who I would have back for one more day, I am fortunate to still have both of my parents, altho I must confess that after hearing Mitch Albom speak last night I rang them to tell them how much I love them coz I don't do that often enough.

I'd probably choose my nana. My life kind of spiralled out of control a bit after she died (I was 15), and I guess I'd just like to show her my beautiful kids coz I know she'd love them, and to let her know that I'm OK, and I hope she's proud of me.

But tending towards being religious a part of me knows that she knows all that already.

And Bombshell, you really should read it! I haven't seen the movie, but having read the book I think it would be difficult for a movie to do it justice.

Oh I loved Tuesdays with Morrie, I ordered it especially after I saw him on Oprah (years ago), I've read probably two more times, and used a passage out of it for our wedding ceremony.

Haven't read his new books yet, but definitely will when I can find them in the stores!

I have read it, but can't really remember much. Will have to go find it and add it to my list for the year (which by the way Emma,I am up to 11 so far!).

Not sure who I would choose - maybe my grandfather as he died when I was 2 so don't remember him.

I also love that book!!! I read it to a class of year 7 / 8 kids I had one year (12 - 13 yrs old). They were pretty amazed. I think it made them realise there's more to life than just themselves.

I think I would also meet with my granddad. He died when I was 6...

Also... (i'm not sure if this relly goes with the topic, but...) I'm going to a physic for the first time in May and apparently she feel passed ones around you. I hope this hasn't upset anyone. If it does, please let me know and I can delete it.

I might have to find this book and read it.

Annajeremy you didnt offend me, Im totally into things like that. Have just finished Alison Dubois (the Medium) latest book. was so good.

Robyn, I think we are quite similar - so many things you say are the same as me (like the wedding thing, which by the way I have given up on for now!). One of my new years resolutions was to read 50 books this year - so far have read 11 so not too far off track. Sorry gone OT again

I thought about who it would be.

My grandad died about 8 or 9 years ago, and I was aimlessly and self centredly wandering through life, no direction, no focus, nothing. I would love for him to see how much I have cleaned my life up, and grown up to be more than another aimless student who thinks the world owes them a living, staggering from one boozy/stoner party to the next, and one loser no good man who treats me like sh*te to the next, cos I have no self respect.

I loved my grandad so much, and it mattered very much how he saw me, and what he thought. I know he loved me, I was his Princess, know I would like him to see how I have met a man who treats me like a princess, and my beautiful children.

Awesome, so how will we work the book review thing?

I would get in touch with my grandad again. he is really the only one close to me that has died and I knew something was going to happen that day. He was really sick and everything but seemed pretty chirpy when we went to see him in the morning but he had heaps of our rellies from timaru up so didnt stay long and with everyone around etc... i didnt tell him i loved him when i left but thought oh well will see him tomorrow. later that day i said to now my hubby, i feel like i need to go and see grandad but we were on our way out and he said dont worry it will be sweet you will see him tomorrow and i remember going to bed that night and saying to myself dont die tonight grandad but he did. Ive always regretted not saying i love you just cos there were so many people there and it was so busy so I would see him again and tell him i love him.

Or I would meet my cousin who disappeared and find out what happened to him because i know the not knowing haunts a lot of my family members.
