HI guys

I had the midwife to day and you no how you have to pee on the stick well it showed that there was blood in my urineand sugar i had maddy awake to so was trying to deal with her to. So never got to ask many questions but she sent me for a blood test as my HCG levels were high for the amount of weeks i am and a urine test to to check for UTI but im not having any pain going to toliet etc. I have just got thrush (sorry TMI) and midwife wife said this could be the cause im quite worried and not sure what to think the midwife ticked urgent on the blood test form and she said she would ring if there was anything wrong. Has anyone had this happen?

blood is definately UTI, but you wont always get pain if it is caught early, and they are apparenlty common in pregnancy.

Sugar could just be because you have had a bit of sugar today, but she will want to get on top of it incase you get Gestational diabetes.

I am sure everything is fine, and she is just doing her job

I would be happy that the test has been done as urgent. Means you don't have to wait as long for the results. Blood usually means UTI but not always and you can get UTI's without the pain (I often do).

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Remember that POAS is often routine and for preventative so it doesn't necessarily mean that there's a "problem". Your mw can tell you whether it was a faint trace of blood in your urine or more than that (I think it's one of the green colours and it's darker with more blood indication) but if there was anything serious she would have said. Not all UTIs are problematic but getting it checked out then means you can discuss what to do about it.
