I've been meaning to do this for ages. Here's some of mine, add your own to the list!

Why I love OhBaby:
The community size is great, you can get to know people without feeling too overwhelmed

We can talk about anything!

There's so much great support on here

I don't have many friends (if any) other than my DP.

So for me this site is just great to hear about other mums and also learning to join in.

I love it because of all the usual things people like forums for, and I have never incountered any bad feelings within this community which is unusual because there is usually a bored bad egg lurking somewhere on every forum.
But also I really love the actual way it is designed. at a glance you can see who's posted last, which threads have new posts, I love being able to put the smiley faces on my posts and the avatar's and tickers...mine you, not matter how many times I try and get a ticker it just doesn't work, ah well, must be the pregnancy brain thing....again

I love Oh Baby because...

- no question is a dumb question no matter how dense you feel asking it there will always be one of the experience mums to help you out and you'll always discover that there was at least one other person wanting to know the same random thing.

- You can meet people on here that are going through what you are going through and can relate to your fears/joys. Like the "Due in July" girls I first started talking to when I was 2 months pregnant, we're still hanging around in the "July babies" thread 15 months later! Most of us have met up and had playdates etc.

- and to emphasise that people are going through what you are going through... I'm happy to report that I wasn't the only Mum to a newborn baby that was trying to open her house door with the car alarm remote, or sat in the back seat of the car when it was just me and the baby

Because they pay me!

But seriously, because I have shared the past 4 years of my life with the lovely ladies here, because I have never felt judged (even when I said I didn't like my babies), because I have always felt supported, and because I can always guarantee that no matter what the issue someone else has been thru it too.

But I also want to say a huge thank you to all of you, not just from me but from the whole team here at OHbaby! - our members, our community, is what makes s who we are, and we love you guys!

OH baby is great as I am new to the country and I can ask you ladies what is up and where I can get stuff done.

2. It is great as I feel I am in the process of making real good friends. (and I love making friends and staying in contact.)

3. It is making me all broody again. (okay maybe this one isnt so great as I want to still wait a bit. )

Cant think of others right now but might be due to LO trying to type here with her freaking feet.

Being a newbie, I've found this site very welcoming, and no comment or question is a dumb one... I've found myself laughing out loud at some of the posts and all teary in others... theres some damn cute babies out there too. I don't recall there being sites like this when I had my first two kids, so this is a nice new experience for me.

I think I'll stick around for awhile yet!

I love OhBaby b/c of all the reasons already said!!!

I only discovered this when Brenna was about 3 months and it was only by accident... I didn't even know what a 'forum'was!!

Right from my first post, everyone has been SOOOO friendly and helpful. I love getting on here each night and catching up with how everyones day has been. (I'm a bit more of a 'lurker' than a reply kinda gal - we only have dial up, so posting a reply takes AGES!!! aarrgghh...

I hope I can get to Well in Oct to meet you all!! Got to save some $$$$$$ first - but that's a bit hard with my recent nappy obsession. Thanks guys!!! (I didn't even know about MCN's until I discovered OB.)

Everyone rocks!!!!!

I love Ohbaby for all the sames reasons everyone else had said.

Also because it has giving me more confidence being a first time mum as it can be a bit overwhelming at times.

That you can be yourself and no one judges you.

Last but not least it is a fun place to come when you just need to unwind and your always guaranteed to find a laugh somewhere just to cheer you up when you need it.

All the other reasons, plus, I am the first of all my friends to start my family and the last of all Rods friends to have babies (they all have teenagers), so its great to have other people to talk baby stuff with and not drive your non baby friends nuts. Plus, its nice to vent, as well, and have pity parties..

I know what you mean Annie! When I started having kiddies I knew no one else with preschoolers and we're the first in both our families (there's since been one cousin born and they are not keen for more!). Nice to have people in the same boat... there's bound to be at least one other out of all of us!

I love Oh Baby because
I now have friends all over the country!
I'm not expected to know exactly what I'm doing just because I've got 3 children
There's always support and hugs and shoulders to cry on in the hard times, and cheers and hugs and high-fives in the good times
There's no thread so specific we can't go off-topic at some point!

I like how if you don't come on for a few days it is still possible to catch up on posts.

I love how if someone says something that can be taken the wrong way people just let it slide (most of the time ) and so every topic doesn't turn into a big fight.

I love OB because...

1. No one judges you, even if you ask dumb questions

2. Everyone has been really welcoming, kind and supportive - even when you are new and they dont know you.

3. Because everyone is different - you get a fantastic broad range of advise from people, but its not useless or conflicting!

4. There is always someone to tell you that 'Tomorrow is another day - and you will feel better'....

I really do think that all you ladies ROCK! This site is awesome! So glad that I found it and was brave enough to 'join'!!

Being young and becoming a single mum it is kind of a scary thing. But everyone is very reassuring and when i joined i didnt expect everyone to be so nice and helpful with stuff.

And even though alot of you have become good friends and have known each other a while, you are still really lovely and kind to all us noobs. Its really great.

Also since i am at home a fair bit its good to have a place on the net to come to and browse and get advice, even without asking, cause theres usually at least one other person wants to know the same things.

I know i dont post much but im generally always lurking lol.

Why I love OHbaby!:

1. You're a brilliant community of mums who are non-judgemental, supportive, and have good senses of humour.
2. Practical experience and down-to-earth advice for REAL mums, not pie-in-the-sky ideals that we feel guilty about falling short of.
3. A one-stop-shop resource for all kinds of things -- whether it's the middle of the night and I want to know about immunisations, or it's the middle of the day and I want to hear your opinions on something my child is doing/not doing, OHbaby! is always open for business and full of info!

I didn't even know what a forum was until I stumbled across this site when I was looking for info on my pregnancy.  I love getting to know the ladies on here, as they're good peoples - down-to-earth and friendly.  And it's the BEST place ever for getting and sharing advice, because there's so many parents here with so many different experiences.  And I love it because sitting here with my cup of coffee while Ella has a nap is "me time".

Oh yeah - I also love that this forum is like a never-ending conversation but you only go into the bits of it that interest you or are relevant, and you're never caught at a bad time with it (like with the phone).  We all only hop on here when we've got time to do so, so it's not like that phone call or unexpected visitor that comes when you're half way through doing something or about to rush off.  And it's nearly impossible to find a 'good' time for 2 mum's to chat on the phone... when is one of them ever not busy?!  But this sort of chat works for everyone!

I love ohbaby!!......we're all been in the same boat. You can always find someone who shares common goals....like my ladies in the weight loss thread! lol. Awesome support and such a wonderful bunch of peeps to be involved with. Was especially great when I was over in Oz..home sick as hell!!....was a lonely time for a first time preggers youngan, and the ladies helped me through a lot.

A great thread to have going...and maybe to sticky!...remind us of why this forum is so great...especially with some of the uglyness that's been happening.

I love Ohbaby, because for the kid that was never liked at school I can come in here and not feel like that reject anymore
I can ask questions and get responses to questions I would be far too scared to ask anyone IRL.
I can show off a million and ten pictures of my girl and get people that I know will really appreciate them!
I can come on and have a good vent when I need to and get my frustrations out!
I have "met" so many lovely ladies and my FB friends list has grown immensely and I hope to meet all those people IRL one day because I can really relate with them and have a lot of fun with them.
I love that when there is a thread that goes out of hand there are those wonderful crazy people that can go in and try to lighten the mood, and that I have become one of those people (the crazy ones that is)
There are so many more things that I love about it that I could go on all day!

I love OB because:

- it's like a coffee group but I can do it whenever I have a convenient moment

- I love the supportive mummies that are always encouraging me and giving me advice

- I love learning about different parenting methods and opinions, so I can try things out for our family and see if they work

- I love sharing in other people's journeys

- When I started having kids I didn't really know anyone else that had any!
