The house is officially up for sale. The sign is up and it's on their website

http://www.harcourts.co.nz/listing/details.do?rul=%2Fsearch%2Fprocess.do%3Fpg%3D1%26ts%3D120639096%26sta%3D1001%26sub%3D1509%26br%3DB%26reg%3D1009%26lam%3DMin.%2BLand%2BArea&id=367412

We busted our asses painting and tidying up this weekend, now we are just hoping like hell that the poeple who buy it want to rent it out. We have new carpet being lounge and the hallway hopefully this week. If they don't we have six weeks to find a new house. We will also be looking at a rent increase of at least $75 to $100 as we only pay $200 here.

Keep your fingers crossed for us please. I like my house now and don't want to move especially as we have a nice new coat of paint.

Yeah we are only renting. If we could we probably would have looked at buying it ourselves but it's not an option at the moment.

I know it sounds stupid to paint but we asked in october last year if we could paint and they brought it all for us and we just hadn't been able to do it until now. The landlords are really, really nice so we felt we should do it as it was our idea back then.

I wish they would just sell it and then at least either way we know where we stand!

Luckily for us we were informed by inland revenue a few weeks ago that they have been underpaying us and our new payments from them will just cover a rent increase if we have to move. there goes our little weekly bonus! But we have had it pretty lucky up until now.

It would be kind of sad to leave this place as we have been here 4 1/2 years but we are almost outgrowing it so maybe it's a good thing.

Have you checked if the mortgage payments would be much more than the rent and if you would get an accommodation sup? It would be a pretty cheap mortgage

Yah I calculated that if you bought the place for $185K and at 8.15%, you would pay $318 per week!!! Not bad I say!
