Anyone got any good ideas to help with a sore back. I think I have put mine out (i'm seeing the dr tomorrow for Josh's jabs so i'm going to talk to him about it). I can't lift Andrew up or can I lift Josh in his car seat. When I do hold Josh (while standing) I feel like i'm going to drop him with the pain in my back. I struggled to hang to washing out today, and I am dreading having to stand and do the dishes this evening ( I would ask DH to do them but he has done so much today (digging holes for our deck) and he is buggered). Would ACC cover a sore back if it was a result of lifting children?? ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

| Yes, ACC should cover that Becks. Maybe you should go and see an Osteo if it is that bad, sounds very sore! Maybe in the meantime put a wheatbag on it, or use some antiflamme if you have some. I hope that it gets better soon. |

Becks, OT here, I'm taking charly for her 6 week check here tomorrow and jabs as well, lol! we must have like minds.. AND I have a sore back, too! ------------- The Honest Un PC Parent of 2, usually stuck in the naughty corner! :P |

Well i'm strugling to even pick up Josh (and he's only 5kg's  ) I'm going to get some drugs and see what else ACC can give me. Annie ours are 10.30  .------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

Just make sure you pinpoint it to something specific for ACC - you need to write a quite specific event - such as lifted x to change nappy, back pain began after that. Then you can basically choose what you want - physio or chiro. Physio is probably cheaper than chiro with the acc assitance, though you do need to pay some sort of top up fee. -------------

I think it happened from lifting his bath from the bathroom to the lounge (a matter of 2 metres) with DH - I didn't even lift it by myself. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |
