I feel absolutely fine lately. Had a bit of nausea a few weeks ago, but none since then.
I have had NO swelling whatsoever, no headaches, no pains, no fatigue, no nothing, but everytime I see my midwife my blood pressure is what she calls 'borderline'. So it's usually anywhere between 120/85 and 120/90. She isn't happy with it so keeps sending me for blood tests to rule out pre-eclampsia. I know she is just doing her job and she really is a good midwife, but my bloods are always fine. What can I do to lower my blood pressure to avoid having blood tests? |

My advise would be to not worry too much about it. If you are feeling good and have no other symptoms of problems it can't be anything serious.
I keep having the same thing happen. Last b/p reading was 154/65 and the highest was 168/75. My m/w even sent me to see a specialist because of it and I have had constant scans to check the b/p of cord. Even with all of this the baby is fine and apart from swollen feet so am I. The specialist ended up shrugging and saying that it happens to some people and they just keep a good eye on it. Apparently if it gets too high they will put you on medication, but there is not really anything they could recommend for me to bring it down. I wonder if mine is going to be lower now that I have finished work  hehehe

Your BP so called high levels are the same as my normal! Sure, the average normal is 120/80, but prior to pregnancy and my first tri readings were 120/85, which is considered in the high normal range. I am surprised that she is acting so full on with those rates, but that is just from the reading I have been doing, I don't actually ahve any medical knowledge, lol!
As for bringing it down, it is all about relaxing. Don't drink anything with caffiene on the day of your visit to her, don't eat too much sugar either as both cause energy rushes. Don't be too physical and also don't laugh too much prior (lol!) Also, now you will be stressed whenever she takes it, so try to get her to take at least 3 readings at different times though the appointment as it can vary as you relax in to it. -------------

Don't panic toooo much. I finished work 4 weeks before I was due. Finished at 1, and was in hospital at 2, after having an appointment with midwife at 1.30. You MW would be worried with the bottom reading as that is on high the high side (the 90). With your bloods if your Uric Acid is up then you should be worried (by up I mean way over normal), if that is up and your BP is rising then they may look at BP pills and hospitalisation just to moniter you and bubs (I know is annoying i've had it in both pregnancies). My advise, lay on the sofa and do nothing but get up to get water and go to the toilet for a few days. If you are heading to PET land then resting is the best thing for you. As i've mananged to get PET in both pergnancies if I have a third then i'm looking at an early delivery (36 weeks max) or hospital bedrest until delivery so not what I wanted to hear. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

I will definitely be resting up if my blood pressure goes any higher or my bloods come back bad.
I've had the same blood pressure (the lower number 90), for the last three midwife visits, and you're right, it is the lower number she is concerned with. She said she doesn't think I will have pre-eclampsia, but must keep an eye on me nonetheless.
