well this is my story, brought a cot from a certain shop (dont know if i should name it since i am really bagging it)  the mechanism that lets the side go up and down has broken twice, I have only been using the cot for a couple of months. So I thought i would just ring to check they had a different one in stock before i pulled mine apart to return it. (I have the reciept)

the stupid b***** says she cant exchange it without the managers permission, and she is on holiday.

So what am i supposed to do, I cant understand why they cant exchange  it. It is a faulty item and i have a reciept.

Any way silly cow got an earful down the phone about me complaining to the consumers institute,

Okay rant over...but i still have a broke cot and a  very strong baby who is always pulling himself up on the side, which wont go up

GRRRRRRRR........

That is pretty rude.

Until you can take it back you could try turning it around so the broken side is up against the wall so bubs can't fall out.

Oh man!! that would make me mad too!!!! they must be able to do something about it!! they should at least have a stand in manager while the other is away for stuff like that!!
I would certainly make a huge fuss when the manager gets back as a cot is not something that you want to break! with your precious cargo in it!

What was Ethan in before you bought it? Can he go back to that until it can be replaced? Bugger about taking it apart though, how frustrating!!!

I would take it apart, go down there, dump it on the counter (or floor if it doesn't fit) and tell them that you *expect* them to come up with a suitable replacement as is your right under the Consumer Guarantees Act. I'm sure the girl has an "emergency" contact number she can call her manager on when faced with an angry customer!

I agree with the idea of turning up at the shop and getting a result straight away!!!! You'd think that there'd be an acting manager?!?!?!

Grrrrrr...that makes me soooo mad for you

Thanks everyone,

Well I rung a different branch of the store, I spoke to a lovely lady there, she rang up my branch and had a bit of a go at them, but I still have to wait till tuesday until it can be resolved. The nice lady did say she thought it sucked and I should just go in on tues demand a full refund and buy a new cot some where else.

All I can say is they should be thankful DH is away, or he probably would have stormed the shop with his paintball gun...
